Not much is known about the plot of Red One, but the project has been described as “a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre.” Whatever that means. While plot details are currently being kept under wraps, it’s hard not to imagine The Rock as a machine gun-toting, one-liner spitting, hugely muscular version of jolly old Saint Nick. With Chris Evans perhaps as a super-heroic elf, or even an everyman who has lost his faith in Christmas and can only be saved by Johnson’s behemoth take on Santa.

Dwayne Johnson, who first revealed his involvement in Red One back in June last year, has since responded with eager excitement to the addition of Chris Evans. “When CAPTAIN AMERICA 🇺🇸 teams up with BLACK ADAM to make a CHRISTMAS MOVIE,” The Rock said on social media. “Directed by the man who directed the JUMANJI MOVIES * jake kasdan Written by the man who wrote the FAST & FURIOUS MOVIES * chris morgan Conceived and produced by the man who produced JUNGLE CRUISE & RED NOTICE MOVIES * @hhgarcia41.”

The Rock then further teased the direction of Red One saying, “Think MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET meets HOBBS & SHAW with a little bit of ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE sprinkled on top.
