Chris Evans may have hung up his shield as Captain America, but it seems that “America’s ass” is still getting attention as the actor was recently named People’s “Sexiest Man Alive.” While many of his fans have responded to the news, one of his biggest supporters has now spoken; his mom, Lisa Evans.

Evans joins the likes of George Clooney, Johnny Depp and last year’s winner, fellow Marvel star Paul Rudd to be given the title, and after two decades in Hollywood, the last ten years of which included his tenure as Captain America, his fans certainly believe he is more than worthy of the accolade. While his supporters have been sharing their love for the actor on social media, Evans’ mother gave her reaction to the news on local Boston channel WHDH TV 7NEWS. Speaking about her famous son’s modesty, she said:

When asked about how Evans’ friends will react to the news, she added:

“He’s always amazed at his own success, he’s amazed at what people think of him.”

Her comments come on the back of Evans’ own comments on winning the accolade, which saw him saying, “My mom will be so happy. She’s proud of everything I do, but this is something she can really brag about.” No doubt Evans will get grief from his former MCU colleagues, who gave Paul Rudd a friendly ribbing when he took the title last year. However, there will be no malice involved in any of the teasings he receives because there is every chance one of them could be on the receiving end of the title next year.

“They will absolutely give him grief about it, but they’re very funny."

Will Chris Evans Return as Captain America?

Anything is possible in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including a surprise return for Chris Evans as Captain America. While his character decided to live out his life in the past he lost following the events of Avengers: Endgame, the opening of the multiverse, the upcoming Secret Wars storyline, and the recent return of Hugh Jackman, who seemed to have hung up his Wolverine claws for good a few years ago, there are many who would be happy to see Steve Rogers take up a post alongside the new Captain America in the culmination of the Multiverse Saga.

Secret Wars is set to be the biggest and most elaborate Marvel movie to date when it hits cinemas in a few years to bring the sprawling Multiverse Saga to a close. The question of who and what could feature in the film has been a question asked many times over the months since it was announced, and there is still some way to go before we find out, meaning that Evans could definitely have even a cameo in the movie.

For now, he is following up his recent roles as the new voice of Buzz Lightyear in Lightyear and in The Gray Man with the Dwayne Johnson-led Red One set for release on Prime Video next Christmas, and is also appearing in romantic action movie Ghosted, and thriller Pain Hustlers, meaning he is not short of work in the immediate future.
