You would think that Chris Hemsworth would have been first in line to show some love and support for his on-screen Marvel brother Loki when the latter’s solo series hit Disney+. It looks like that hasn’t exactly been the case, as Hemsworth recently confessed that he didn’t even make it beyond one episode of the series because he is just too busy.

Loki arrived on Disney+ as one of the most anticipated Marvel series announced at that time, with the story picking up from the moment 2012’s version of Loki was able to escape from custody using the Tesseract. Over the series, Loki met and narcissistically fell in love with a female variant of himself, unraveled the mystery of the TVA’s existence, and managed to have a hand in unlocking the multiverse.

While appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Thor star Hemsworth ended up making an admission that he had started watching the series, but due to other things, including his kids, he just never managed to watch more than one episode. The actor said:

“I think I saw an episode of Loki and I thought, ‘Oh, that’s cool…’ I’ve got three kids, mate. I’ve got three kids and… I’m off gallivanting around the place… No, I haven’t watched anything. It’s not because I don’t want to. I just haven’t had time.”

Will Thor and Loki Be Reunited?

The opening of the multiverse, the 2012 “time-heist” escape of Loki, and the general belief that Thor’s time in the MCU may be nearing its end are just three reasons why many fans believe that Loki and Thor will be reunited on screen at some point during the Multiverse Saga. With Loki season 2 coming next year, the new episodes will possibly give some indication as to how likely that reunion is.

There is currently little known about the plot of Loki’s second season, but it is expected that Jonathan Majors will play another iteration of Kang the Conqueror in the series. Whether it turns out to be the end of the road for the God of Mischief this time, many fans of Tom Hiddleston’s villain-turned-hero will be hoping that he will be sticking around for movies like The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.

Chris Hemsworth, for his part, recently commented that he believes it may be time for Thor to hang up his hammer. While he has previously said that he would be happy to play Thor for as long as audiences want him, he recently commented:

Season 2 of Loki will arrive on Disney+ in mid-2023.

“I feel like we’d probably have to close the book if I ever did it again, you know what I mean? I feel like it probably warrants that. I feel like it’d probably be the finale, but that’s not based on anything anyone’s told me or any sort of plans. You have this birth of a hero, the journey of a hero, then the death of a hero, and I don’t know—am I at that stage? Who knows?”
