Chris Evans being voted the Sexiest Man Alive by People has led to former winner Chris Hemsworth reflecting on his former glory and how it is all in the past. While there are many fans of Hemsworth that will instantly contest his words, even if they were said a little in jest, the Thor actor was happy to congratulate his fellow Avenger on finally becoming worthy of the accolade.
While speaking to ET at the New York premiere of his new reality show Limitless, which launches on Disney+ today, Hemsworth was asked to share his thoughts on Evans being crowned Sexiest Man Alive, to which Hemsworth replied:
Having held the title himself in 2014, Hemsworth was asked about previously holding the title, to which he laughed and said:
“It’s about time. It’s well deserved. I’ve it saying it for years, and the world’s finally catching up. He’s a good-looking human.”

While the actor is just allowing a bit of modesty to creep into his words, his new series Limitless goes some way to debunking the idea that the buffed-up Marvel star is anything other than at a peak of his physical strength and endurance, and even through some of the tough challenges the series presents himself, there is always that winning smile to boot. For his many fans, this is more than enough to keep him near the top of many “sexiest man” lists for some years to come.
“Many, many years ago. I’m passed my prime now, so it’s like passing the torch now.”
Can Chris Hemsworth Continue to Bring The Thunder as Thor?
Marvel Studios
Based on Chris Hemsworth’s words, it maybe means that Marvel Studios will have to make the tough decision and recast the actor as Thor in his next outing in the MCU; after all, how can you have a powerful god that is not in their prime? Of course, this will not be happening anytime soon, and Hemsworth’s chuckled comments certainly won’t have Marvel’s casting directors worried about who they can find to replace him as he shrivels up into a shadow of his former self.
Hemsworth may have said in recent interviews that he does not want to go to quite the extreme lengths he did for Thor: Love and Thunder to buff himself up, as it has started to hurt just a little. However, even a half-ripped Hemsworth is more Thor than many other actors could bring to the part. Having talked about wanting to keep playing the role for as long as he can, it seems unlikely that Hemsworth will be giving up that or any other action roles that come his way anytime in the foreseeable future.
Currently, Hemsworth’s latest Marvel outing, Thor: Love and Thunder, can be found in Disney+’s Marvel collection, and his new action-packed reality series Limitless is streaming on the platform today and features Hemsworth risking his life to show how far the human body can be pushed in some extreme situations.
