Although Chris Pratt’s series The Terminal List had a rough ride with critics, audiences were well on board with the action thriller, giving it a massive 95% audience approval rate. While this only gives one side of the story, the viewer numbers were not too shabby either, with the most recent figures suggesting over 1.6 billion minutes of the show were watched during the recording period of Nielsen data. All of this should be enough to secure a second season of the series, and Pratt recently gave a positive update on the chances of seeing him take on the role of Lieutenant Commander James Reece again.
The Terminal List is based on the novel of the same name by Jack Carr, who also acts as executive producer on the show. While the series, and Carr’s novels for that matter, came under fire for being overly macho and, according to the author, for not “shoving woke stuff into it,” the story of Navy SEAL Reece uncovering a web of secrets and lies on his journey to get revenge for the murder of his family is one that played out well for those who have previously lapped up the work of authors such as Tom Clancy and Andy McNab.
Pratt appeared as a guest on the Danger Close podcast, which Carr hosts, and during their chat, the pair discussed the potential renewal of The Terminal List. While Carr mentioned that there is plenty of “cool stuff” to be announced, Pratt added his own support for a second season by assuring fans they have “nothing to worry about.” The pair said:
Pratt: “To the rabid fans of The Terminal List out there, you have nothing to worry about. We love you and appreciate your support. It’s our life’s mission to make sure you can come back to the well. We are working away.”
Carr: “There may be some cool stuff on the horizon being discussed.”
Chris Pratt’s Busy Schedule Could Lead to a Less Demanding Role in The Terminal List Season 2
Although there has not been a cast-iron confirmation that The Terminal List will be back, it is clear that Pratt and Carr are working hard to make sure that if it doesn’t happen, it is not through want of trying. However, with Pratt being in demand at the minute, Carr has previously hinted that a second season would possibly look to adapt his book True Believer and would also potentially try to make the role not as all-consuming for Pratt.
