Following the verdict in the Chrisley trial on Tuesday, it would appear that Todd Chrisley, in fact, does not know best. The celebrity couple was found guilty on multiple counts of bank fraud and tax evasion, and their lawyer, Peter Tarantino, was convicted for conspiracy to defraud the United States and willfully filing false tax returns. Nevertheless, USA Network is going ahead with the second half of Season 9, which was filmed before the trial began, according to reports from Deadline.

Chrisley Knows Best is USA’s most-watched current original series, and the network will find it hard to part ways with the family if it comes to that. However, whether the series will continue for the 10th season is still unknown, and much of that decision rests on the sentencing the Chrisleys are dealt. Last month, USA announced that new episodes of Season 9 would air beginning Thursday, June 23rd, and that will not change.

Chrisley Knows Best premiered on March 11th, 2014, revolving around the real estate tycoon Todd Chrisley and his family. A spinoff series titled Growing Up Chrisley, which featured Chase and Savannah Chrisley, debuted on USA in 2019. In that same year, during the seventh season of the main show, Todd and Julie were indicted by the Georgia Department of Revenue on multiple tax evasion and bank fraud charges. They turned themselves in and were later released on a $100,000 bond. The couple settled the disputes with the Department of Revenue but still faced multiple federal charges.

Now, prosecutors in Atlanta have charged Todd and Julie Chrisley with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, and tax fraud. Julie Chrisley was also charged with wire fraud and obstruction of justice. They allegedly defrauded local banks out of $30 million in loans, and prosecuting attorney Annalise Peters said the couple actively hid the profits earned from Chrisley Knows Best. The couple will have to wait till October 6th to determine the length of their sentencing, with a maximum time of 30 years.

Depending on their time in prison, we won’t know whether the USA program will continue. The Chrisleys were released on bond; however, Deadline reports the judge stipulated in a court document that they must participate in a location monitoring program and home detention. So, for now, we patiently await their sentencing and news on the possibility of a 10th season.
