A promising update has come in for Chuck fans hoping to see the series get a continuation. Recently speaking with Michael Rosenbaum on the Inside of You podcast, series star Zachary Levi addressed the status of the Chuck franchise. He brought up the fact that he’s been consistently trying to get new Chuck content made, feeling that a movie would be the best way to move the story forward.
Levi speaks about hwo the cast put together a Chuck reunion through Zoom during the pandemic and it was a total blast. The reunion also served as a “great reminder for everyone just show special and magical” the series was for everyone and how easily it was for them to get right back into it. While nothing has officially been greenlit as of yet, Levi feels that now we are closer than ever to getting a Chuck movie made after vowing to never give up his pursuit for it to happen.

Zachary Levi Has Been Trying for Years to Make Chuck Movies
NBC
Let’s hope the progress is for real this time, but it’s worth noting that Levi sounds more optimistic than ever. At one point in 2017, he addressed his plans to make Chuck movies and suggested that he wasn’t having much luck at the time. He was thinking that Netflix would be a good avenue for them, but as several years have since passed, it would seem that the streamer just isn’t interested.
Still, as Levi now says, Warner Bros. has gotten into the streaming wars with the studio putting more and more exclusive content for viewers of WarnerMedia’s streaming service HBO Max. Perhaps Netflix never gave new Chuck movies a chance, but with less red tape to cut through on HBO Max, they might finally have a good home after all. Fans should be keeping their fingers crossed.
