Man of the hour Andrew Garfield is a huge fan of the Netflix series Cobra Kai, and we just might see the actor make an appearance on the show someday. Garfield, who’s known for his role in the Spider-Man franchise and stars in the new Netflix movie Tick, Tick…Boom!, previously spoke about how much he loved Cobra Kai. The cast of the Karate Kid sequel series then surprised Garfield with a special message thanking him, and his reaction is priceless.

Because Garfield is a Cobra Kai superfan, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that he could make an appearance on the show. This possibility was recently presented by Collider to the Cobra Kai creators: Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald. For his part, Hurwitz would be on board to bring in Garfield to play a character totally unexpected from the actor and unlike anyone else in the show. However, he avoids getting too specific, as he’s holding out hope that a Garfield casting could end up happening.

Schlossberg has some ideas on where to take Garfield’s hypothetical character if he joins the show. Because the actor seemed to be partial to Miyagi-Do, Schlossberg presumes it’d be best for Garfield to interact with Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso.

Another pitch offered up by Heald would be for Garfield to come in as an antagonist, playing a Mr. Burns-like billionaire who shows up in town with nefarious intentions.

Cobra Kai is one of today’s hottest shows, and there’s a lot of anticipation heading into its fourth season. After Netflix kicked off 2021 with season 3 on the first of the year, the fourth season will be dropping on New Year’s Eve. Season 5 has already wrapped filming so we can presume the wait for the next season shouldn’t be horrendous. The future of the show after that remains unclear, but if Cobra Kai is just as popular by the time season 5 rolls around, we might get season 6 and beyond.

As for Andrew Garfield, many of his fans are demanding his return as Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man 3 after watching Spider-Man: No Way Home. He can also be seen in the new Netflix movie Tick, Tick…Boom!
