9 Derek Morgan
Played by Shemar Moore, Derek Morgan is the famous muscle man who goes out in the field of all the cases. He is a character who is remarkably close to the audience’s hearts because of his storyline of being abused as a child, which changed the way his life turned out. Derek’s character has given a lot of the show as he is always on the forefront of all the action, constantly showing his bravery, while also having an interesting relationship with Garcia which gives a break from the seriousness. Fans felt a pang in their hearts when Morgan had to leave the series in the 11th season.

Paget Brewster completely nailed the role of Emily Prentiss as the mom of the whole gang. Fans of the show absolutely love the comforting chemistry that she has with everyone, and the characters come to her for advice and all types of issues in their lives. 7 Penelope Garcia
The heart of the BAU, Penelope Garcia, is portrayed by Kirsten Vangsness. Garcia is someone who brings all the peculiarity to the team of the BAU which makes her one of the audience’s favorite characters of the show. Her nature does not quite fit into the environment of an investigation agency as she is extremely jolly and innocent, always getting grossed out by horrifying images her job requires her to overview. The subtle comic relief her character brings takes the viewers minds off the seriousness of the situation.
6 Jason Gideon
The boss, Jason Gideon, is played by Mandy Patinkin. Gideon is known for his calmness and understanding nature is what got most of the people hooked on the show. Gideon had to leave the series in the third season but was frequently mentioned by the team, and it felt like he never left. Gideon’s death in the eighth season hit the audience badly, and it became an emotional experience even for the whole team. Fans of the show love him because of the trust that he had in his team and his optimistic and loving nature.

Hotchner (Thomas Gibson) is the Unit Chief of the BAU and the most mysteriously attractive member that made fans fall for him. His intelligence and capability in his field makes him act like Superman, and he overlooks all the team with a lot of care, making sure everybody has what they need. Fans learn more about his private life through the death of his wife, making him even more loved due to him being so level-headed. He looks very rigid with his rules and seriousness, but all that adds to the charm over the series.
3 Jennifer Jareau
Jennifer Jareau, portrayed by A.J. Cook, is a character whose personal life has been on display since the start of the series. This makes her close to the fans as they can constantly sympathize and relate to her struggles of getting a promotion and working hard. Her work ethic is an admiration factor for the fans as she is always driven to succeed in life and will not stop until she gets what she wants. Her struggles of working full time, being a mom, getting married and still handling her job perfectly make her an inspiration for many.
2 Elle Greenaway
Elle (Lola Glaudini) was only present on the show for two seasons and made her presence known. Though she might give an annoying outlook, Elle is liked by viewers of the show because of the drive she has. She constantly appreciates herself for doing the bare minimum, giving more of a humane outlook. Her constant whining and wanting things done her way was entertaining as the team had to put up with her.
1 Luke Alvez
Adam Rodriguez perfectly portrayed the muscle man Luke Alvez, who came in as a replacement for Morgan. He perfectly fit the vibe and role and became an instant favorite. Fans loved the chemistry between Alvez and Garcia and were over the moon in the finale when he proposed to her. The constant teasing and flirting with another brought a freshness to the show bringing joy to the viewers and making him accepted by the fans immediately.
