Star Wars series star Daisy Ridley has secured her next big role. Per Deadline, Ridley is set to star in The Christie Affair, a series adaptation of Nina de Gramont’s best-selling novel of the same name which was published by St. Martin’s Press earlier this year. Ridley is also serving as an executive producer on the project while Miramax TV will be producing and serving as the studio. Juliette Towhidi (Calendar Girls, Death comes to Pemberley) is penning the script for the live-action series.

Per Deadline, Miramax TV’s Head of Worldwide Television, Marc Helwig, said in a statement, “We couldn’t be more grateful to be joined by Daisy on this incredible project – as both the star as well as our producing partner. Daisy is one of the most captivating and talented actors working today, and we’re excited for her to bring Nina de Gramont’s fascinating ‘Nan O’Dea’ to life.”

The series puts a new spin on the story, which is inspired by Agatha Christie vanishing in 1926 after her husband’s affair was made public. Ridley stars as Nan O’Dea, the mistress of Christie’s husband. In the TV series adaptation, Nan and Agatha, with the latter character still yet to be cast, will “become entwined in each other’s lives in ways neither expected.”

Serving as executive producers alongside Ridley are the Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Rich Green, Jeremy Bell, and DJ Goldberg.
