Danny Trejo and Joel McHale is set to star in the film Tim Travers & The Time Traveler’s Paradox. Deadline reports that the filming for the movie wrapped up earlier last month in Spokane, Washington. The pair has been revealed as the key supporting cast members in Stimson Snead’s sci-fi comedy film.

Tim Travers & The Time Traveler’s Paradox will be participating at the Berlinale’s European Film Market this month and Guerrilla Rep Media will be overseeing the marketing and distribution of the film. Prior to the release of the film, director Stimson Snead has made a short film version of Tim Travers & The Time Traveler’s Paradox that starred Samuel Dunning as the titular role Tim Travers and was released in 2021.

Samuel Dunning will be leading the cast ensemble of the film as he reprises his role as Tim Travers. As per IMDB, it’s a time travel film that tells the tale of scientist Tim Travers, who uses his invention to travel back in time. Tim travels back in time repeatedly just to meet his younger self and experiment in paradoxes. Machete actor Danny Trejo will be playing the role of a mercenary army who’s interested in the work of Tim, while Community actor Joel McHale plays as a conspiracy theorist radio host who’s also interested in Tim’s work and had interviewed the scientist. The film will also star Keith David and Felicia Day.

Director Stimson Snead Has Always Planned To Take The Short Film To The Big Screen

While working on the short film, director Stimson Snead knew he had to take the short film to the big screen. The director believes that the film will impart great values to the audience. The director also revealed that they did some tweaking to the original storyline for the big screen to take self-love to a whole new level.​​​​​​​

Director Snead said “It’s about what happens when a time traveler creates a time machine, goes back in time one minute and kills his younger self. And then nothing happens. What he just did, means that he should not exist, and yet he somehow does. And so he spends the rest of the movie trying to figure out why this isn’t breaking the universe."

He continued “This ended up being a story about self-acceptance and about self-love. The entire meta joke of the original short is he is basically in a state of perpetual self-harm, usually played for laughs. So, rather than move away from that, for the future, we decided to double down and actually get into what this says about the psychology of the character, using the time travel as a fun metaphor to play with that. And it just turned out really beautifully. At least, I hope it turned out really beautifully.”
