Veteran actor Danny Trejo will be celebrating the holidays this year in a special way. Trejo, who was just recently seen in the Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett, has been officially announced as the Grand Marshal of the 90th anniversary of the Hollywood Christmas Parade Supporting Marine Toys for Tots, which celebrates its 75th anniversary. The parade will be presented by Associated Television International on the streets of Hollywood on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. PST, according to a press release.
“Wow! I’m honored to represent Los Angeles,” Trejo said in a statement addressing the news. “As a kid growing up in the San Fernando Valley, I never would’ve imagined I’d be the Grand Marshal of the Hollywood Christmas Parade. Then and now I still love cruising the streets of Hollywood. What an unbelievable honor!”

Lieutenant General James B. Laster, the President and CEO of Marine Toys for Tots, added: “We are thrilled to be partnering with the Hollywood Christmas Parade for our 75th Anniversary, as it is right here in Los Angeles, where we began our operation years ago. And today we are proud to continue our mission of bringing much-needed holiday gifts and cheer to those less fortunate.”
The Hollywood Christmas Parade is hosted by Erik Estrada, Laura McKenzie, Dean Cain, and Montel Williams. Elizabeth Stanton serves as special co-host. According to its official description, the parade features Hollywood celebrities and movie cars, award-wining bands from around the country, dazzling equestrians, large-than-life character balloons, colorful floats, and humorous specialty acts. Gravitas Ventures
Over the decades, Danny Trejo has appeared in dozens of movies and television shows. This includes starring in the cult favorites Machete and Machete Kills as the titular hero, as well as recurring roles in the TV shows Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad, King of the Hill, and The Flash. He was also just recently spotted in the Star Wars universe by appearing in The Book of Boba Fett on Disney+.
More recently, Trejo appeared in the film Green Ghost and the Masters of the Stone. Speaking about the project with MovieWeb, Trejo told us what attracted him to this project, noting how he enjoyed the screenplay and appreciated how this movie gave him the opportunity to reunite with cast members he also loves.
“I got the script and thought it was funny. I’ve worked with the cast before, Marko is a good friend — he makes the stuff in The Matrix look like kids play — and it was a fun movie. And I love when at the end, I’m the hero,” Trejo told us. “Charlie Clark is kind of bumbling at the beginning and then ends up an unbelievable hero. It carries a message of believing in yourself and family.”
