Warning! Spoilers ahead for Episode 3 of The Book of Boba Fett.

Last Saturday, Danny Trejo shared an image from the set of The Book of Boba Fett on Twitter. The actor recently made an appearance in the third episode of the space opera television series. In the post, viewers can see a picture of Trejo, Boba Fett actor Temuera Morrison, and a prosthetic head of a Rancor. You can see the social media post below:

A caption for the tweet reads, “Machete finally made it into space, Star Wars! It was great working with Temuera Morrison and others on #TheBookofBobaFett!” Trejo was making a reference to his character Machete, who first appeared in the Spy Kids films, and later showed up in a Machete movie. His recurring character is not in the Star Wars universe, but it was a nice reference for fans. Danny Trejo also noted his gratefulness for working with Morrison, along with the entire cast and crew.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

In The Book of Boba Fett, Jabba the Hutt’s cousins, known as the Twins, made a peace deal with Boba Fett by gifting him a Rancor. For those who are unaware, a Rancor is a giant alien species that can be utilized in gladiator arenas. A different individual Rancor showed up in Return of the Jedi as something Jabba would feed his enemies to. Jedi Luke Skywalker faced off against the behemoth in a fight that did not involve his lightsaber. While the conflict proved difficult, Skywalker was able to overcome the odds against him. The alien that was given to Fett was a baby. Danny Trejo played a Rancor trainer who gave Boba Fett some knowledge on the species. The Rancor in the show has so far been more peaceful than the one in the movie. In The Book of Boba Fett, the young alien was seen resting.

Trejo’s trainer explained to the former bounty hunter that some individuals have learned to ride Rancors. Boba Fett then asked Trejo’s character to teach him to ride his new pet. The foreshadowing likely means fans can be expected to see more of the Machete actor in future episodes. With Boba Fett preparing for war against a rival gang, the potential is high for him to ride the alien into combat with his enemies. Also, the trainer talked about how Rancors will not attack unless it is threatened. In Trejo’s first appearance, his character’s name was not revealed. It is unknown if the trainer’s name will be unveiled in the future.

As of the writing of this article, the tweet has over 98,000 likes. The post also has over 8,000 retweets. Clearly, fans have responded well to the image.

In the TV show, former bounty hunter Boba Fett looks to make a name for himself as a crime lord. He assumed his new position after killing Bib Fortuna the former right-hand man for Jabba the Hutt. Fortuna had overtaken the Hutt’s criminal organization after the letter’s death. At Fett’s side is Ming Na Wen’s Fennec Shand. The two characters also appeared in the hit series The Mandalorian.

The Book of Boba Fett airs on Wednesdays on Disney+.
