Warning: This article contains spoilers for Stranger Things Season 4 Finale.

Stranger Things’ season finale delivered some big moments, and probably one of the biggest moments featured Jim Hopper, a demogorgon, and a rather famous sword. While Eleven and the other kids of Hawkins were facing off with Vecna, Hopper, Joyce, and Murray were attempting to kill off the Russian’s collection of the Upside-Down’s deadly creatures, and after torching most of the monsters with a flamethrower, it came down to Hopper to take on the final demogorgon one on one.

“Nerd alert. The prop at the end of episode 9 is the Atlantean sword from the CONAN films. A lovely fan found a still of when it was established in ep 7 and used by an unlucky inmate who met an untimely death near the cells at the side of our gladiatorial pit. The real excitement behind this however, is that the sword the incredible ST props department (reveal yourselves guys so I can credit you) gave me is THE ACTUAL SWORD used in the filming of both CONAN films. It was heavy as hell, and such a tremendous honor to wield. @schwarzenegger - ready to accept your notes on my technique.”

Stranger Things Has Been a Mega Hit for Netflix

     Netflix

With feature-length episodes, Stranger Things brought its fourth season to a shattering close that sets up its final fifth season sometime in the next couple of years. Even before the final two episodes are taken into account, Stranger Things’ debut of season four back at the end of May blew away previous premieres across all streaming services since Nielsen started releasing figures two years ago.

In its opening week, Stranger Things debuted with 5.14 billion watched minutes, but in its second week, this jumped to a colossal 7.2 billion minutes. With no streaming series having ever pulled in 6 billion minutes or more in a single week, the extended episode length of Stranger Things has seen it set a record that is going to be very hard to beat when considering many big series now release episodes on a weekly basis rather than in one drop.

However, there is every chance that the arrival of Stranger Things’ fifth season will challenge this record when it arrives, most likely, in 2024. With Netflix having already confirmed that fans will still be able to binge the entire season in one go, and the Duffer Brothers this time expected to drop the whole season in one go, there is going to be a lot of hype for what is sure to be Netflix’s far and away most popular season or its most popular English language show ever.

The first four seasons of Stranger Things are all available to stream on Netflix now.
