“I think they’re all difficult people who all have many weaknesses. As you may know, as I certainly do, when you put a bunch of people with various certain weaknesses together, there’s often drama and comedy.”

While some fans are a little disappointed that their favorite antihero has not made the team, Harbour is just happy to back in the Marvel franchise. And even teases a new supersuit for Alexei Shostakov aka Red Guardian.
“I was told I would get a new suit. And I don’t want to say the ‘F’ word, but I am really psyched about that. You watch Captain America and you see him in all of these different movies, and you see him the white star and the black star [on his costume.] I just want a full closet’s worth of suits, and I’m well on my way.”
Thunderbolts Will Be Random, Chaotic & Fun, Says David Harbour
Marvel Studios
Though we now know who will be involved in Thunderbolts, many mysteries still remain. Including how exactly this rag-tag group of good guys, bad guys, and everything in between are brought together in the first place.
This being Marvel, Harbour is of course sworn to secrecy, but was able to reveal to Comicbook.com that Thunderbolts will be random, chaotic, and fun.
“That is one of the the initial mysteries. I just made a joke about it’s like Dungeons and Dragons, where you meet in a tavern and it’s like there’s a dwarf drinking a beer and then there’s like an elvish figure over there, we all come together and then there’s this ghost… it’s not gonna happen like that, I don’t think.”
Directed by Jake Schreier, filming on Thunderbolts is expected to begin early next year before being released on July 26, 2024.
“But I think that’s one of the mysteries of the movie is what is their relationship, and as you say, there is a lot of exciting things as you wrap up the next phase in terms of sort of what their part of the whole universe is in this random, chaotic way. So, you know, we can’t say too much at this point, but they’re an exciting introduction of this team together again, that’s going to be a lot of fun.”
