Deadpool 3 is certainly one of the most eagerly awaited movies in the future of the MCU, the movie’s writers have doubled down on their claim that no movie is going to be safe from the title character’s scathing wit. As previously revealed, Deadpool’s addition to the MCU means that any of the Marvel Studios heroes are now set up to be the butt of many jokes. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have hinted that Sony’s Morbius is also in for a rough ride following its sensational internet mauling.
Deadpool was one of the most popular Marvel movies made by Fox, and with the Disney merger came the exciting but similarly worrying prospect of the character being brought into the MCU. Of course, the MCU is strictly family-friendly and many were concerned that this would mean a dramatic toning down of the Merc with a Mouth, but over time those fears have seemingly been dispelled by the Deadpool team, and that means when Ryan Reynolds makes his next appearance as Wade Wilson, it was as the same foul-mouthed mature Marvel star we are used to.

When it comes to the merciless ribbing of many movies, it seems that among those now in the sights of Deadpool 3’s writing team is Morbius, Sony’s latest Spider-Man-related movie which managed to bomb not once, but twice at the box office, and has become the subject of many internet memes, none of which are very complimentary. According to Reese and Wernick, this makes the living vampire a prime target for some Deadpool love. When asked if they would be making some jokes at Morbius’ expense, they told Post-Credit Podcast:
Wernick: “Now we’ll have to.”
Reese: “Now it’s on our radar.”
Deadpool 3 Announcements Should Be Coming Soon
20th Century Fox
It has been a long journey for Deadpool to make his return to screens, and while Ryan Reynolds has been teasing that work is moving along on the third movie in the franchise, there have not yet been any official details about when Deadpool 3 is likely to hit cinemas. With Kevin Feige gearing up to make some big announcements about the next phase of the MCU, we could finally get to find out more about a timeline for Deadpool’s arrival in the next few months.
When Deadpool 3 does make its debut, fans are certainly going to be ready for more of the fourth-wall-breaking, pop culture ridiculing lunacy that the character brought in his first two movies. Among some of the highlights of Deadpool’s last outing was a post-credit montage of the character going back in time to right a number of wrongs, including taking out Ryan Reynolds before he could star in the much-derided Green Lantern movie, and having a shot at Wade Wilson’s original and much-hated appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. With the whole of the MCU, and beyond, to now bring into the equation, we can expect some brutal jokes at the expense of Deadpool’s new colleagues of the Marvel Cinematic Universe when Deadpool 3 finally arrives.
