MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

One text message reads, ‘I am 100% a cannibal’ while another says, ‘I want to eat you.’ A handwritten note allegedly from Hammer to a victim reads, ‘I am going to bite the f**k out of you.’ Plenty more disturbing acts will be depicted in the docuseries, slated to arrive on Sept 2. The official logline for the series says:

House of Hammer should be one of the most intriguing docuseries to release in recent history, as the allegations against Hammer are genuinely shocking and vile. The actor was once on top of the world with massive releases like The Social Network, Call Me by Your Name, The Lone Ranger, and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. He is now being spotted working as a timeshare salesman in the Caymans. Hopefully, House of Hammer can help audiences understand what was going through the actor’s mind as he quickly fell from grace.

Debauchery. Deceit. Abuse. Addiction. Corruption. Over the course of five generations, the men in the Hammer family have more secrets and scandals than any vault can contain. Armie Hammer’s alleged crimes are only the tip of the iceberg. Through a trove of archive and interviews from survivors and family members, the dark and twisted secrets of the Hammer family come to light. Behind the money and power lies a dysfunctional dynasty with its male characters exhibiting all the devastating consequences of privilege gone wild.

House of Hammer Promises to Look at the Entire Hammer Family

Armie Hammer’s troubles may be rooted deep within his family history, and House of Hammer promises to look at that history in detail with the upcoming docuseries. Jason Sarlanis, President of Crime and Investigative Content, Linear and Streaming, said in a statement:

Hammer’s aunt, Casey Hammer, says she provides exclusive revelations in House of Hammer. “On the outside, we were a perfect family,” she says in the trailer. “But magnify Succession a million times, and it was my family. If you believe about making deals with the devil, the Hammers are top of the totem pole. Every generation of my family has been involved in dark misdeeds. And it just gets worse and worse and worse.”

“The accusations of rape and abuse brought against Armie Hammer in the last few years are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Hammer family. With House of Hammer, we witness truly disturbing details and sinister secrets that money and power couldn’t hide forever. This documentary provides and important platform for the incredibly courageous women who came forward to share their stories, and we hope their courage inspires others to continue meaningful conversations around abuse in our society.”
