The latest trailer for the upcoming Marvel sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reminds audiences everywhere that the highly anticipated comic book adventure is just one month away from release. Teased by Marvel UK via Instagram, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to be released in the United States on May 6, 2022, with tickets due to go on sale from today. This means it won’t be too long before we can finally uncover the mysterious and the madness of the multiverse alongside The Master of the Mystic Arts.

Directed by Evil Dead and Spider-Man 2 filmmaker Sam Raimi and written by Michael Waldron, all manner of secrecy has been wrapped around Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in order to keep certain surprises intact. The official synopsis for the MCU sequel, though, does offer some clues.

Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Rachel McAdams, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will also introduce some new faces to the Marvel fray, including Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, a teenager whose talent for traveling between dimensions by punching open doorways is sure to come in very handy.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is Rumored to Feature All Kinds of Crowd-Pleasing Cameos

As well as featuring the big-screen debut of America Chavez, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is rumored to include a whole host of major, crowd-pleasing cameos. Some of these cameos are expected to make up The Illuminati, a superhero team comprised of some of the Marvel Universe’s greatest minds. Teased in several of the trailers, the group is rumored to introduce the likes of Namor and Mr. Fantastic, as well as bringing back Patrick Stewart as X-Men leader Professor Xavier.
Alleged details of the post-credits scenes for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness have also claimed that the Marvel outing will see Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool enter the MCU during the movie’s final moments — a cameo that would surely have theaters cheering.
Of course, much like Spider-Man: No Way Home, we will simply have to wait and see which of these rumors turn out to be accurate and which turn out to be false. As Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness producer Richie Palmer explains it:
