Dog the Bounty Hunter star Duane “Dog” Chapman is putting his talents to use with a newly announced trip to Moab, Utah, to investigate an unsolved double homicide. Taking to Facebook, Chapman referred back to the murders of a newlywed couple who were found dead last fall and says his team has partnered up with the family of one of the victims with the hopes of finding answers. As noted by Chapman, the murders of Turner and Schulte had gotten some national media attention when the manhunt for Laundrie was on. Chapman had personally gotten involved with the Laundrie search, injuring himself in the process, but ultimately came up empty-handed; authorities later discovered Laundrie’s remains and determined that he had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Coincidentally, Laundrie and Petito were stopped by police while traveling through Moab on the day after Schulte and Turner were last seen alive. This warranted further investigation with the help of the FBI, but based on “electronic transmission evidence,” it was determined that neither Petito nor Laundrie could have been involved, officially ruling out Laundrie as a potential suspect in that case.

Kylen Schulte’s father has invited our team to assist. You may recall that Brian Laundrie and Gabby Petito were in Moab around the time of the murders but no definite link between the two cases has yet been substantiated. 24-year-old Schulte and 38-year-old Turner were found dead at their campsite on Aug. 18, 2021. They were last seen on Aug. 13 when they were captured on surveillance video leaving a bar that evening. Clues were discovered in a 1987 Ford Econoline van that was abandoned in a nearby parking lot, but authorities don’t seem to be any closer to identifying a suspect. It is believed that an unknown killer murdered the women and fled the area.

Duane “Dog” Chapman previously starred in Dog the Bounty Hunter for eight seasons, but the end of the series didn’t mean he was through with what he does best. Chapman and then-wife Beth Chapman also co-starred in the spinoff series Dog and Beth: On the Hunt and later Dog’s Most Wanted before Beth passed away in 2019. Amid his search for Brian Laundrie when the national manhunt was on, it had been reported that Chapman was looking to return to television with an all-new series documenting his pursuits.
