That’s a wrap on Dune: Part Two. On Instagram, Dune star Timothee Chalamet posted a new image of himself on the set alongside his father, Marc Chalamet, with the two each flashing two fingers for the camera. He excitedly announces in the caption that “DUNE 2 HAS WRAPPED,” referring to his father as “desert dad” in the post. You can see the announcement Instagram post below.

This also follows a previous post from Chalamet revealing a sneak peek at his return. The image only shows Paul from behind, but it does provide enough of a tease to start getting fans excited about the film. We may not be seeing it hit theaters until later next year, but production wrapping also means that we could be seeing more sneak peeks in the months to come as the post-production commences.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
Denis Villeneuve is back in the director’s chair, using a screenplay co-written with Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth; all three penned the first installment as well. Obviously, Chalamet is returning to reprise his role from the first film as Paul Atreides. Other returning cast members for the sequel include Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem. Some exciting names are also joining the cast for season 2, such as Florence Pugh (Black Widow), Austin Butler (Elvis), Lea Seydoux (No Time to Die), and the one and only Christopher Walken.
Working With the Same Crew Has Made Production Smoother
Warner Bros. Pictures
“I will say it is mostly designed," Villeneuve previously told Empire of what’s unique about Dune: Part Two from his viewpoint as the director, noting it’s his first sequel. “The thing that helps us right now is that it’s the first time I’ve revisited a universe. So I’m working with the same crew, everybody knows what to do, we know what it will look like. The movie will be more challenging, but we know where we are stepping. And the screenplay is written. So I feel confident. Frankly, the only big unknown for me right now is the pandemic.”
Open to making a third installment but knowing it’s not guaranteed, Villeneuve added, “I just want to experience it, be present with it, every single moment of it. When I shoot a film, I shoot it like all my movies, as if it’s the last one. I will do the same with Part Two.”
Dune: Part Two is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on Nov. 3, 2023.
