Filming has been wrapped on Dylan’s New Nightmare, a fan film follow-up to Wes Craven’s New Nightmare. In the original 1994 movie, A Nightmare on Elm Street star Heather Langenkamp played herself with the actress terrorized by a real-life manifestation of Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund). Former child star Miko Hughes also starred as Heather’s son, Dylan Porter, following his memorable performance as Gage in the Stephen King classic Pet Sematary.
Dylan’s New Nightmare brings back Hughes to reprise his role as an adult Dylan, once again targeted by a resurrected Freddy Krueger. The fan film comes from Womp Stomp Films, the team behind the popular Friday the 13th fan film Never Hike Alone. Cecil Laird of The Horror Show YouTube channel directs the unofficial New Nightmare sequel, and along with Hughes, the fan film features guest appearances from Friday the 13th series stars Ron Sloan and Cindy Kania. Dave McRae plays Freddy Krueger and Face Off season 9 winner Nora Hewitt provides the make-up.
