Beverly Hills Cop 4 Recently Moved Forward At Netflix

As one of Eddie Murphy’s most popular franchises, Beverly Hills Cop 4 has been in development for quite some time, and after previously being set to be directed by Ms. Marvel’s duo of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah for Netflix, the pair abandoned the movie in favor of Warner Bros. Batgirl film instead. In April, it was announced that Mark Molloy would be stepping into the breach and picking up director duties on the movie as his first major feature film after mostly concentrating on short films.
Eddie Murphy has struggled to make an impact in the last decade, with a string of badly received movies that have mostly flopped on their release. While Coming 2 America had the pull of nostalgia, it was largely panned as a rehash of the original movie, with The Guardian going as far to say that “the movie is as tired and middle-aged as Akeem himself.”
