Disney+ will live stream the live concert Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium on November 20. The live concert will be the final American stop on the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. The news comes courtesy of Ayo Davis, the Disney Branded Television President, who announced it at the D23 Expo 2022. The concert will also be part of a documentary that Disney+ and Disney Original Documentary have ordered for approximately $30 million.
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances And the Years That Made His Legend will focus on the final months of Elton John’s tour, ending with his last North American performances at Dodger Stadium on November 17, 19, and 20. His most recent stop on the tour was at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York, which is located on the campus of Syracuse University.

Besides that, the documentary will also serve as an official feature on Elton John. It will utilize never before seen footage of his concerts during the last 50 years. It will also feature hand-written journals and present-day footage of both the singer and his family. The documentary is planning to get a limited theatrical release and festival run. It will also be available exclusively on Disney+.
This is Not the First Time Elton John Has Been Involved With Disney

Perhaps John’s biggest contribution to the Mouse House was with the 1994 Walt Disney Animation Studios classic The Lion King, whose story was partly inspired by Hamlet. He composed the film’s songs alongside English lyricist Tim Rice. Among them were “Circle of Life,” “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “Be Prepared,” “Hakuna Matata,” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” the latter of which won an Academy Award for Best Song.
John and Rice subsequently teamed up for the musical Aida, whose book was co-written by frequent Disney scriptwriter Linda Woolverton. Based on the opera of the same name by Giuseppe Verdi, Aida premiered on Broadway on March 23, 2000, and ran for 1,852 performances until September 5, 2004, which is the 34th longest-running Broadway musical. It was nominated for five Tony Awards and won four, including Best Musical Score and Best Performance by a Leading Actress.
Back in 2002, John appeared in The Country Bears. It was a musical road trip movie that was based on a Disney theme park attraction Country Bear Jamboree. The film starred Christopher Walken, Daryl Mitchell, Diedrich Bader, Alex Rocco, and Haley Joel Osment, while John made a cameo. Of course, the Britsh singer has company more than just that. The film itself was a commercial and critical flop.
Then, in 2011, John contributed music for the animated film Gnomeo & Juliet, whose source of inspiration you can probably guess. In one of the songs, “Hello, Hello,” John performed with Lady Gaga, though the soundtrack version only has John. The song was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song, the Satellite Award for Best Original Song, and the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Song.
