You may be able to catch Elvis for free on the big screen as a special way of celebrating Elvis Presley’s birthday. On Jan. 8, the King would be turning 88 years old if he were still with us today. Warner Bros. has chosen to honor the “Jailhouse Rock” singer by screening Elvis, the new biopic by acclaimed filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, for free on that day. The film will be playing in 10 different cities for one day only, per Deadline, keeping the buzz surrounding the film going for a little while longer.
Confirmed cities that will screen Elvis on Jan. 8 include Atlanta (AMC Phipps Plaza), Chicago (AMC River East), Dallas (AMC NorthPark), Kansas City, KS (AMC Town Center), Los Angeles (AMC Burbank), New York City (Loews 34th Street), San Francisco (AMC Metreon), Toronto (Cineplex Scotiabank), and Vancouver (Cineplex Odeon International Village). It will also screen at Graceland in Memphis. Each of these free screenings will start at 5 p.m. except for LA, which starts an hour earlier at 4 p.m. The Graceland screening also starts at 2 p.m.

Elvis had a great run in theaters in addition to scoring high praises from critics, with many even calling for Butler to be nominated for an Oscar for his performance as the King. But for those who prefer to see the movie at home, Elvis is also streaming on HBO Max. And if you’re still wanting more content about the King after finishing the film, there’s more coming. Also on Jan. 8, HBO Max will drop a new 30-minute doc exploring the making of the biopic. It’s been dubbed Just a Boy from Tupelo: Bringing Elvis to the Big Screen.
Baz Luhrmann directs Elvis using a screenplay co-written with Sam Bromell, Craig Pearce, and Jeremy Doner. The film stars Austin Butler, Tom Hanks, Olivia DeJonge, Helen Thomson, Richard Roxburgh, David Wenham, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Luke Bracey.
