According to Deadline, actress Emma Roberts will be starring alongside Lucifer actor Tom Ellis and co-producing with Meaghan Oppenheimer of Tell Me Lies on a new Hulu network dark comedy series. The series, titled Second Wife, marks Emma Robert’s return to the small screen since her last television role as Madison Montgomery in the hit FX series American Horror Story in 2013-2019. Second Wife will be split into 30-minute episodes to be aired on Hulu.
Second Wife is a romantic dramedy about the challenges and triumphs of an integrated family. The show begins with its protagonist Sasha played by Emma Roberts, who has just experienced a bad breakup. She makes the sudden decision to leave New York to start her life over again in London, where she meets and falls in love with a newly separated father named Jacob, played by Tom Ellis. In an effort to forget and move past their previous painful relationships, the pair quickly discover a lot about each other they don’t know when they hastily decide to get married.

Hulu describes Second Wife as an examination of intimacy, failure, and second chances with a darkly humorous vibe. The series is based on a 2018 novel of the same name by author Carola Lovering.

The beginning of 2023 promises to be a busy year for actress Emma Roberts. Her latest film, Maybe I Do, is set to hit theaters later this month on Jan. 27.
