With each season of The Boys fans have gotten so far, the new episodes have managed to top the insanity that was featured in the season that came before it. Three seasons in, we have seen all kinds of twisted mayhem that’s never been shown on television before, and the show isn’t through yet. Season 4 is currently underway, and sharing a photo with some fellow cast members on Instagram, Erin Moriarty says she’s “eyeing them season 4 plotline” and adds, “don’t say I didn’t warn u.”
“Those are usually the moments that I actually like filming the most because they’re insane and so fun,” Moriarty previously said of shooting the show’s more insane moments, via Collider. “I know that I’m probably not gonna ever work on a job like this, that has that many moments. But also, as Annie and as Starlight, who has such a strong moral compass, I don’t have as many of those moments.”

On the infamous Herogasm scene, she added, “Oh, yeah, it was 100% the weirdest thing I’ve ever shot on this show. I had no idea what I was getting into, and I don’t say that in a bad way, but nothing can prepare you for spending five days straight in a simulated orgy… It was the weirdest thing I’ve done on this show, and I would say the weirdest thing I’ve done in my career. I don’t say weird in a bad way, but that would definitely be the weirdest, period, ever.”
Where Will The Boys Go in Season 4?
That might have been a weird scene, but we can expect the cast and crew of The Boys to try and top it somehow when season 4 arrives. One reason that the series never has a dull moment is that showrunner Eric Kripke ensures that there is no filler. He previously spoke with Vulture about how he can’t see himself going back to network television given the advantages he has doing The Boys for Prime Video. It allows for him to provide better quality episodes, according to Kripke.
“Look, I love streaming. I can’t see ever going back to network,” he said. “It’s the ability to do two things: have most of your scripts written before you shoot a day of film, and then have all the episodes finished before you turn them over to air. There are logistical benefits that would be impossible to give up because you can tell a coherent piece in a way you simply cannot with network TV. It’s already aired; you threw it out the door. You’re locked in. It happens all the time: We’re in the middle of filming episode seven, and we realize there’s a different storyline we need. We still have time to go back and shoot it for episode one and drop it back in.”
A premiere date hasn’t yet been set for season 4 of The Boys, but the first three seasons are streaming on Prime Video.
