It’s a matter of time before we see more of the Eternals. While many, many Marvel movies are quick to get sequels ordered, the future of Eternals isn’t entirely clear following the film’s release in theaters last year. It did well at the box office, though not at the levels typically expected of big-budget Marvel movies, and it was also met with rather mixed reviews. That might make moving forward with Eternals 2 more of a gamble that the studio isn’t willing to take.
In any case, whether or not another feature film happens, we’ll probably be seeing the titular superheroes showing back up in the MCU in one way or another. Producer Nate Moore addressed the status of the Eternals’ future in a new interview with ComicBook.com which was published on Saturday. According to Moore, the Eternals will make their return to the MCU in some way, but that’s all that he’s really allowed to say about the situation at this time.

“I don’t want to spoil anything, but we have not seen the last of those characters,” Moore boldly proclaimed.
Is Eternals 2 Happening?
Walt Disney Studios
It might be that a sequel to Eternals is happening but that the official announcement just has not yet been made. In August, Eternals actor Patton Oswalt, who voices Pip the Troll, claimed that Eternals 2 was in fact happening with Chloe Zhao coming back to direct. He made the statement on The Today Show while teasing that Pip may also be coming back with Starfox (Harry Styles).
“Harry Styles and I are in a little post-credit sequence in Eternals,” Oswalt said. “I play Pip the Troll, he plays Starfox, Thanos’s brother. They have announced there’s going to be an Eternals sequel Chloe Zhao is going to direct it. So, hopefully, there will be more adventures of Starfox and Pip.”
Last year, Zhao also made it clear she hopes to be given the opportunity to direct another Eternals film.
“What I loved about making this film is that it tied so close to the origin of the MCU is also going to have a big repercussion moving MCU forward,” Zhao told The Playlist. “With those two as secured, we get to play and do whatever we want and make a stand-strong standalone film and leave everything on the table. I would be back in a second working with the team at Marvel for sure. So we’ll see.”
Eternals 2 hasn’t been officially announced at this time, and thus, has no scheduled release date.
