The defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has found its way into many places. Recently comments relating to Aquaman star Heard found their way into Euphoria actor Dominic Fike’s concert, and what the musician had to say didn’t go down well with his audience and created additional controversy online. In a video that immediately went viral, Fike brought up Amber Heard for no apparent reason, announcing to the crowd that he has been “having visions” of Heard beating him, and found it “hot.”
The trial between former couple Heard and Depp saw the final witnesses and closing statements being made at the end of the week, with the jury now deliberating their verdict. Of course it has been hard for everyone not to form an opinion about the case, with live coverage streaming from the courtroom every day, the internet full of memes and legal professionals sharing their views, but it seems that not everyone is able to read when it is the right moment to voice their own comments on the subject.
Fike was appearing in Evanston, Illinois, when he decided to share something with his audience that perhaps should have been kept to himself. Stopping the concert halfway through, Fike said:
The reaction of the crowd was pretty much unanimous as boos rang out at the star making light of the issues that have been discussed in the court case, which have involved many statements and descriptions of domestic abuse. Plenty of those watching the video of Fike’s comments has their own opinions to air, which they did in the comments sections wherever the footage was shared. One person called him out as having a “need to be relevant”, with another adding, “Making light and romanticizing domestic violence is so weird.” After making the comments on stage, Fike then continued on with the concert.
“Yo, so I’m just gonna come straight out and say it. I’ma come out and say it. I’ma be real with y’all. I think Amber Heard is hot, dude. I know it’s not a popular opinion and it’s not the focus at the moment, dude, but I’ve been having these visions of her just beating me up. I think it’s hot.”
There have also been many Euphoria fans putting Fike on blast. Some are saying they had enjoyed him on the series but are no longer fans after hearing his comments. Other fans didn’t like him on the series and seem to not be surprised by the actor and singer’s real-life actions. In any case, the controversy continue to grow as Euphoria fans “cancel” Fike.
The High Profile Trial Is Effectively Over Now But For A Verdict
Law&Crime Network
After weeks of testimonies, cross-examinations, and lots of objections, the trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is effectively over as far as the live-streamed spectacle is concerned. The jury was asked to begin their deliberation on Friday following the closing statements by both teams. While the jury will not return until Tuesday, there is no telling how long it will be before a verdict is reached.
In the meantime, there has still been plenty of internet speculation over which way the outcome will go, but it is clear that the public has made up their opinion about who should win and regardless of the actual outcome, they are very unlikely to change their opinions. However, the jury must only use the evidence presented to them over the course of the trial, and with very specific questions to be answered in order to find either of the stars victorious, it could turn out that neither will end up getting the result they want in court.
