In our interview while promoting Anything’s Possible, Reign and Ali remarked upon the film’s Outfest premiere. “Outfest was pretty lit,” Reign said. “I had a lot of fun. There was so much good energy.” Ali added, “We were surrounded by a lot — a lot — of love. At the end of the day, we met so many people [we’d] never met before. And the level of love from every single one of them was moving to me. It was very inspirational.”
Anything’s Possible ultimately marks a progressive movie for the industry, particularly when it comes to mainstream movies about transgender characters. More than anything, it’s a story about LGBTQ+ joy, which is significant at a time when, as Porter proselytized at the film’s Outfest screening, political legislation and rhetoric have targeted trans and LGBTQ+ youth in America.
