The new sci-fi thriller Deus has arrived, and we have an exclusive clip of the film to premiere. Starring Claudia Black (Farscape, Pitch Black, Stargate SG-1) and David O’Hara (Doomsday, Cowboys and Aliens), the movie follows astronauts sent to investigate when a mysterious dark sphere is discovered orbiting Mars. Waking from an 8-month hibernation aboard their vessel, The Achilles, they discover the sphere is actually a blinding light from which one word is repeatedly transmitted in over four thousand languages: Deus.
In our clip, The Achilles’ self-destruct mode is activated as the vessel gets closer to the mysterious dark sphere. Karla (Black) and Ulph (O’Hara) must manually override the system to separate the ship or face an untimely demise. You can get your sneak peek at Deus by watching the clip below.

Writer-director Steve Stone has said how the film is reminiscent of certain sci-fi favorites but offers something unique to the genre with a story that’s unlike any other. Stone also teased the visual effects that are put on display in the film, noting that this will push the viewers to their limits.
“Deus is a taut psychological sci-fi noir thriller, recalling the dark claustrophobia and tension of Alien, Blade Runner, and The Matrix,” Stone said in a statement. “Moving into new territory, its story, and the ultimate moral dilemma it presents takes us beyond a straight genre film. Deus is a film that will leave its audience with an essential question, a question they must answer for themselves.”
He added, “Deus will combine my visual aesthetic as a digital artist, with the technical and creative talents of Viridian FX, the visual effects team behind Solis, Residue, and Macbeth, in a film that takes its audience to the limits of their experience.”
Deus is now available on Digital, VOD, and DVD as of Sept. 13, 2022. You can check out the full trailer for the film below.
