Everyone loves a Christmas comedy, and Hulu took the classic formula in a different direction with The Binge 2: It’s A Wonderful Binge. The film sees the return of Jordan VanDina, penning the script for the sequel and making his directorial debut. VanDina made a splash in 2020 when he wrote the first film in the franchise, The Binge. The movie spoofs the idea behind The Purge films, set in a time when all drugs and alcohol are illegal, and the only day anyone can participate in the fun is on the national Binge day.

The Binge 2 looks to keep the same style, though this time, it’s focused around the Holidays. The official synopsis for It’s A Wonderful Binge reads: “This year The Binge happens miraculously on Christmas. Unleashing a new holiday adventure featuring magical storybooks, catchy songs, and more.” MovieWeb has an exclusive look at the blooper reel from the film, giving audiences a behind-the-scenes look at the hilarious antics on set.

Christmas owls, world-famous Christmas ham, and a broken leg are the subject of some spontaneous laughter, with Nick Swardson (The Benchwarmers), Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Eduardo Franco (Stranger Things), Dexter Darden (The Maze Runner), and Tim Meadows (Mean Girls) hardly able to keep a straight face. They’re joined by an excellent cast, including Danny Trejo (Machete), Paul Scheer (Long Shot), Patty Guggenheim (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law), Tony Cavalero (The Righteous Gemstones), and Marta Piekarz, who returns from the first film. It’s A Wonderful Binge is nearly ready for release, arriving on Hulu on Dec. 9.

The Binge 2: It’s A Wonderful Binge will find a few characters trying to find the right path in their lives, as Andrew (Eduardo Franco) and Hags (Dexter Darden) attempt to right some wrongs. “Andrew, we’re not kids anymore. This binge is our chance to take our lives to the next level,” Hags says in the film. He has big plans to propose to his girlfriend, Sarah (Zainne Saleh), while Andrew works things out with his family and his mom’s boyfriend.

Of course, nothing will go to plan, with an unconventional friendship between Danny Trejo’s Angel being a highlight of It’s A Wonderful Binge.
