Actress and Mindy Kaling superfan Victoria Moroles practically had to pinch herself when she met her idol for the first time. In season 3, Moroles made her debut on Never Have I Ever and will appear in the upcoming fourth and final season. A Netflix series, the show was created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher and follows an Indian-American high school student after the death of her father.

In a new exclusive interview with MovieWeb to promote her Shudder horror film Blood Relatives, Moroles touched on her time spent on Never Have I Ever. She explained how she’s been a huge fan of series co-creator Kaling for years, so when it came time to meeting her, it almost felt like a dream. Clearly starstruck, Moroles describes the situation as feeling like she “blacked out” to get through it, though everything turned out okay.

“I honestly kind of blacked out when I met her. I think it’s one of those things where we were on set working on this scene in the art classes, like this big kind of group scene, and she was coming in to say hi… it was the first time that I had met her. And so she came up to me and was like, “It’s so great to have you on the show.” And I just, I kind of went to another place. [laughs] But she was really so kind and so sweet.”

The Final Season of Never Have I Ever Is Coming Soon

Season 3 premiered in August, and the plan is for season 4 to arrive in 2023. With the season wrapped, it appears that it may be coming sooner in the year rather than later, as Moroles teased to us that the final season will be coming “soon.” She obviously cannot get specific about what the plans will be for her character or anything else, but Moroles is hopeful that fans will be satisfied with how Kaling and Co. conclude the hit show.

The first three seasons of Never Have I Ever are streaming on Netflix. Season 4 does not yet have a premiere date.

“I just finished shooting the fourth season of Never Have I Ever in August. The third season came out, it’s on Netflix. And the fourth season’s gonna come out soon… I’m really excited. The show has like a super big following, so I hope that a lot of people like the fourth season. There’s a lot of fun stuff in it… The fourth and final season, I was so sad!”

Meanwhile, Moroles can also be seen in her new role in the vampire movie Blood Relatives. She plays a teen who approaches a 115-year-old vampire claiming to be his vampiric daughter, and the two proceed to hit the road as they decide whether to “sink their teeth into family life.” The film premieres on Shudder for streaming on Nov. 22, 2022, and you can get a sneak peek at Moroles in the film by watching the below trailer, courtesy of Shudder on YouTube.
