Fast and Furious lead Vin Diesel has confirmed that production on highly-anticipated sequel Fast 10 is speeding down the track, with filming ready to begin in mere “minutes,” according to Dominic Toretto himself. The action star shared a video to his official Instagram account, showing him at a recent NASCAR event in Los Angeles, where he took the opportunity to celebrate “that racing mindset” and tease the beginning of Fast and Furious 10 filming.

Aside from the production schedule, not much else is known about Fast 10. Vin Diesel will, of course, return to the role of car-and-family obsessed hulk Dominic Toretto, with the likes of Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, and Sung Kang all expected to return.

“Sending you all positivity on this incredible Sunday! I and the kids just watched NASCAR here in LA… And it was a real fun event… We’re all in that racing mindset now, as we’re minutes away from the start of principal photography of Fast 10.”
MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY
One of the few things we do know for sure is that Fast 10 will be the first half of a two-parter finale to the Fast and Furious saga. “The idea of the last chapter being two films is correct,” returning director Justin Lin said regarding bringing the franchise to an end. “I have to say, I’m so glad - because I think when I first entered this franchise, a sequel was not a given. You had to earn it, you know? And so to be sitting here talking to you and go, ‘Oh yeah, there’s gonna be two more movies!’ I’m like, ‘Wow.’ It means a lot. So, every day when I wake up, I’m trying to reconfigure and make sure hopefully whatever we’re talking about process wise is gonna yield the best result. But I think having one chapter in two movies is correct. That’s where I sit today.”
Jason Momoa Will Join Fast 10 as a Villain
Apple Inc.
The other hugely exciting thing that has since been confirmed regarding Fast 10 is that Aquaman star Jason Momoa will join the roster as the movie’s villain. After some speculation over whether Momoa would be sitting in one of many driving seats in Fast 10, the news was eventually confirmed by the Fast 10 official Instagram account. Sharing an image of Momoa alongside the caption “The Fast Fam keeps getting bigger. Welcome, Jason Momoa,” the Dune star should prove to be a perfect addition to the Fast and Furious family.
Fast 10 star Tyrese Gibson has since welcomed Momoa to the gang, echoing the excitement felt by Fast and Furious fans. “Yeaaaahhhhhh we outta here!!!!!” Gibson said on social media. “Welcome to the #FASTFAMILY!!!!! @prideofgypsies Pluto here we come!!!!!!”
Following a series of delays, the most recent installment in the franchise, F9, hit theaters on June 25. The movie was met with mixed reviews but still managed to find huge success, becoming the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2021. Fast 10 meanwhile has suffered its own delays and was recently pushed back to May 19, 2023.
