The Fast and Furious 10 family continues to grow, this time adding The Suicide Squad star Daniela Melchior in an as-yet-undisclosed role. Revealed in a report by The Wrap, Melchior, who recently impressed in director James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad as supervillain team-member Cleo Cazo AKA Ratcatcher 2, is now in talks to enter the hugely successful Fast and Furious franchise alongside Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez.
Daniela Melchior is a young up-and-comer whose star is quickly on the rise thanks to her role alongside the likes of Idris Elba and John Cena in director James Gunn’s recent DC movie outing, The Suicide Squad. Melchior played one of the more sympathetic members of the titular team of villains, Cleo Cazo AKA Ratcatcher 2, a thief who has inherited the mantle of “Ratcatcher” from her father and utilizes special equipment that allows her to control and communicate with rats. Outside of the world of DC, Melchior has also strayed into the realm of Marvel, providing the Portuguese voice for Spider-Gwen/Gwen Stacy in Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

The actress can next be seen in Assassin Club before starring alongside Liam Neeson in the upcoming neo-noir thriller, Marlowe, which follows a private detective in the 1950s who is hired to find the ex-lover of a glamorous heiress. With Daniela Melchior already racing towards the A-list, a role in Fast and Furious 10 would no doubt launch her into the Hollywood stratosphere.
Fast & Furious 10 Will Begin to Wrap Up the Franchise, Jason Momoa is Already On Board as the Movie’s Villain
Universal Pictures
Not much is yet known about the specific plot of Fast and Furious 10 (though it is likely to feature the gang once again on the hunt for some sort of MacGuffin). One of the few things we do know though is that the upcoming tenth installment will be the first half of a two-parter finale to the Fast and Furious saga.
“The idea of the last chapter being two films is correct,” returning director Justin Lin said regarding bringing the franchise to an end. “I have to say, I’m so glad - because I think when I first entered this franchise, a sequel was not a given. You had to earn it, you know? And so to be sitting here talking to you and go, ‘Oh yeah, there’s gonna be two more movies!’ I’m like, ‘Wow.’ It means a lot. So, every day when I wake up, I’m trying to reconfigure and make sure hopefully whatever we’re talking about process wise is gonna yield the best result. But I think having one chapter in two movies is correct. That’s where I sit today.”
As well as bringing back the likes of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, and Sung Kang among others, Fast and Furious 10 will also introduce Aquaman star Jason Momoa as the villain of the piece, something which the actor recently confirmed.
“It’s fun, I get to play the bad guy, which I haven’t gotten to do for a while,” Momoa said earlier this month. “Now, I get to be the bad boy. A very flamboyant bad boy. A little panache!”
Fast and Furious 10 is scheduled to be released on May 19, 2023.
