Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s business partner and co-producer Hiram Garcia has offered his view on Vin Diesel’s recent, rather surprising plea for the action superstar to return to the world of The Fast and Furious. Following a very public feud between the burly pair, Diesel offered something of an olive branch recently, reaching out to Johnson and asking him to bring Agent Hobbs back for the finale. While Garcia hasn’t yet discussed the situation with Johnson, he understands why Diesel would do this.

Though he doesn’t know whether The Rock will take Diesel up on his offer, Garcia does believe there is a chance that the actor shooting his shot just might work. The producer even suggests that Diesel may have doubled down on his appeal, perhaps sending The Rock a private message or two…

The feud between Diesel and Johnson is well-documented, with the {Fast and Furious} behemoths falling out back in 2016, when The Rock called out some of his unnamed male co-stars as “candy asses.” While he avoided naming names, you don’t need to be a super sleuth to work out who he was talking about. Since then, Johnson has expressed regret over making the feud so public, though he did quickly assert that he meant every word; “No, I meant what I said. For sure. I mean what I say when I say it. But to express it publicly was not the right thing to do.”

With the dispute ongoing, it was assumed that Johnson’s Agent Hobbs would simply be left out of the upcoming {Fast and Furious} finale, which will culminate in a two-part {Fast and Furious 10}, but Diesel clearly has other ideas in mind, reaching out to Johnson with hopes of burying the hatchet. “My little brother Dwayne… the time has come,” Diesel began in a social media post. “The world awaits the finale of [Fast and Furious 10]. As you know, my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne in my house. There is not a holiday that goes by that they and you don’t send well wishes… but the time has come. Legacy awaits. I told you years ago that I was going to fulfill my promise to Pablo. I swore that we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the finale that is 10! I say this out of love… but you must show up, do not leave the franchise idle you have a very important role to play. Hobbs can’t be played by no other. I hope that you rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny.”

Will it work? Only time will tell. But whether he appears in Fast and Furious 10 or not, Hobbs is set to return in a Hobbs & Shaw sequel which is currently under development with Seven Bucks Productions co-producing, with Johnson and Hiram Garcia returning in their positions as producers.
