Fast X, or Fast and Furious 10, is an upcoming action film and sequel to 2021s F9. Directed by Louis Leterrier, Fast X is the 11th feature-film in the Fast and Furious franchise if one counts Hobbs and Shaw. Since this will be one of the final installments of the franchise, we better get ready for the fastest ride of our lives. The first Fast and Furious film came out all the way back in 2001, meaning that we have had 21 years of fast cars and epic races, and it seems to be coming to a close.

The story of this installment is set to be released in two parts, Fast X being the first, although not many details have been released yet; as of now, it’s set to be released May 19, 2023, and it’s follow-up is set for February 2024. Fans’ imaginations must be running wild, who knows what is to come, but they will have to wait until 2023 to find out. The fluctuating characters of the Fast and Furious franchise have been played by a massive range of fantastic actors, making for one of the most epic casts in the action genre, so let’s take a look at the cast of Fast X and see where we might recognize them from.

MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

Vin Diesel

     Universal Pictures

Of course the epic Vin Diesel is set to return to our screens for Fast X, and we couldn’t imagine it without him. Diesel began auditioning in the early ’90s but found it a struggle to land some roles. Instead, why not just create your own film? In 1995, he created his own low-budget short film, Multi-Facial; only two years later in ‘97, he made his first feature length film, Strays, which he also wrote, produced and directed. He might have struggled in the beginning, but Multi-Facial sparked his career when Steven Spielberg noticed him, landing him a role in 1998 war movie Saving Private Ryan.

Of course, his reputation grew greatly through the Fast and Furious franchise, but more recently, fans have found that Diesel isn’t just a cool guy who drives fast cars. They might recognize his voice as the adorable Groot in the MCU, appearing in 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy (as well as Vol. 2), Avengers Infinity War (2018), Avengers Endgame, and Thor: Love and Thunder. Groot also appeared in 2018’s Ralph Breaks the Internet and the Disney+ animated series I Am Groot earlier this year. Avatar fans will also be excited to hear that he has been cast in the upcoming Avatar movie, Avatar: The Way of Water, though his role has yet to be announced.

Jason Momoa

     Netflix

Jason Momoa will star in Fast X as a villain. Momoa made his debut as Jason Loane in the action drama series Baywatch: Hawaii between 1999 and 2001. Not long after, he appeared in the great SyFy Channel original series Stargate Atlantis, and fans then recognized him in the first two seasons of Game of Thrones as Khal Drogo.

These roles kick-started his career, which has become massive in recent years. He has starred in more recent hits like the Apple TV+ series See in 2019 and as Arthur Curry / Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), which is set to release its sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in 2023. Fans will also recognize him as Duncan in the 2021 science fiction adaptation, Dune, and will star in Slumberland on Netflix.

Jason Statham

English actor Jason Statham is most well known for his appearance in action-thriller movies, playing characters who are typically rough and violent. In his youth, Statham would often work the local market stalls, which actually inspired his role in the Guy Ritchie crime films, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. These roles were such a success that it sparked a new career for Statham, leading him to roles in the Transporter trilogy in the early ’00s and The Italian Job (2003), becoming a well recognized and respectable actor.

He also later gained success from his appearance in The Expendables, but of course became incredibly renowned for The Fast and Furious Franchise, including the most recent spin-off, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw in 2019. Although he has previously been criticized for the lack of variety in his roles, we still greatly appreciate the exciting and action-packed performances that Statham brings in all of his action movies.

Charlize Theron

     Columbia Pictures

Charlize Theron is one of the world’s highest-paid actresses and fans will recognize her from winning various awards, such as an Academy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award and even a Golden Globe. First taking to the screen in a big way with 1997s The Devil’s Advocate, she then spent the following two years appearing in Mighty Joe Young and The Cider House Rules. Theron’s reputation skyrocketed when she portrayed real-life serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster, for which she gained incredible reviews from viewers and critical acclaim.

Since, fans will also know her for her roles in The Italian Job (alongside Jason Statham), Hancock, Snow White and the Huntsman, and the epic female lead in Atomic Blonde. Theron’s career has progressed fantastically, and she has even delved into production work, so fans might not only recognize her on screen, but behind the scenes, producing films like Dark Places and Long Shot. Her work has been a huge success and she’s still going strong, earning great acclaim as Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road, so it is no surprise that she was awarded a motion picture star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and we can’t wait to see her in action again in Fast X.

Helen Mirren

     Summit Entertainment

Helen Mirren, or rather Dame Helen Mirren, was awarded her title (DBE) in the Queen’s 2003 Birthday Honours for her services to drama and to this day is one of only 24 performers to have achieved the Triple Crown of Acting. When she first appeared as Cleopatra in Antony and Cleopatra at the National Youth Theater in 1965, her acting career was on its way to fame. After many years of success on the stage, film and television studios chased her, resulting in fabulous performances in The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover, an appearance in The Madness of King George, and The Last Station.

Fans will recognize her, however, for her work in Prime Suspect, for which she won three British Academy Television Awards for Best Actress. She also landed a role in 2005 as Queen Elizabeth I in the series Elizabeth I, followed by Queen Elizabeth II in the film The Queen a year later. Her part within the Fast and Furious franchise consisted of appearing in 2017’s The Fate of the Furious, Hobbs & Shaw in 2019, and the most recent installment, F9 last year. With such brilliant talent, fans can’t wait to see her on the big screen again with the Fast family in 2023.

Michelle Rodriguez

Back in 2000, Michelle Rodriguez began her acting career appearing in an independent film Girlfight, going on to win a Gotham Award for Best Debut Performance. Her career was really kickstarted when she became recognizable as Letty Ortiz in the Fast and Furious franchise, which led her to land a role as Rain Ocampo in the Resident Evil franchise. More recently, fans will recognize Rodriguez from roles in Machete, Machete Kills, and Turbo. Her role in the heist movie Window in 2018 also gained praise from audiences and critics alike, and we can’t wait to see her return in the fast lane in Fast X.

Tyrese Gibson

Tyrese Gibson first landed a role onscreen in the coming-of-age movie Baby Boy in 2001, leading him into joining the Fast and Furious franchise. Later exploring his talent in action, he appeared in Four Brothers in 2005 and appeared as Robert Epps in the Transformers franchise. He also expanded into comedy, starring in Ride Along 2, and more recently branched into the superhero world in Morbius earlier this year.

Aside from acting, Gibson is also well known for his music and now has a successful career in R&B, even being nominated for a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album for his 2011 album, Open Invitation. Tyrese’s sixth album, Black Rose, was released in 2015, and hit number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, and has become his most successful record to date.
