The Marvel Studios series Ms. Marvel is about a Pakistani-American Muslim superhero Kamala Khan, played by newcomer Iman Vellani, and is set to debut on Disney+ later this year. In the comics, Khan struggles to fit in until she gets superpowers like shape-shifting abilities and superhuman strength, but little is known about the upcoming series despite a sizzle reel. But according to a recent rumor, it was just revealed two of the Ms. Marvel actors might be playing specific characters on the Disney+ series: Fawad Khan and Mehwish Hayat are set to play Kamala Khan’s great-grandparents, and actor Nimra Bucha has been cast in a substantial undisclosed role.
A Twitter handle, Ms. Marvel News, has been sharing updates about the series. If rumors are to be trusted, the account shared, “Fawad Khan and Mehwish Hayat will be playing Hasan and Aisha, Kamala Khan’” great-grandparents, in a flashback scene in Ms. Marvel."
The Pakistani actor Fawad Khan previously confirmed reports that he was"cast in Ms. Marvel. However, at the time, he did not divulge any further details. Speaking to Indian journalist Anupama Chopra in 2021, Khan confirmed that he would appear in the series and talked about the experience of being on a Marvel Studios set. He commented, “It’s a wonderful experience; it was good fun. The cast that I worked with,“It’s people that I worked with, it was good fun, but I am sorry, I cannot say anything more than that at this point in time.”
As for Mehwish Hayat, rumors of the actress’s casting in Ms. Marvel started in January 2022. The Pakistani film and television actress is one of Pakistan’s leading actresses and is best known for Actor in Law and Chhalawa.
Ms. Marvel News also tweeted its prediction for Hayat and Khan’s roles, “In the comics, her great-grandparents only appear in four pages about the partition of India and Pakistan, so it’s likely this scene will be about that, though we can’t confirm yet.”

I can share that I am in Ms. Marvel, but that’s all I can share! We will see you onscreen soon. We have shot a lot, but there’s more to shoot. I think it’ll come out next year. I haven’t even shared anything on Instagram yet. I don’t know what to say. I’m a very timid person, so I can’t share much. Fawad deserves all the love. He’s a very good actor.
