Spanning ten seasons over ten years, Friends has remained a popular and relevant series from its debut to its current legacy. From the toils of single life to the most memorable shenanigans, each character offers the complete best of their individual personalities.
Part of the magic of Friends is the best line deliveries. Of the best is, of course, the suave and sweet Joey Tribbiani, played by Matt LeBlanc. Joey’s friendship knows no bounds and his openheartedness brings the audience great laughs and endearing smiles. Here is a list of Joey’s best catchphrases taken from some top-tier episodes.

9 “I’m curvy and I like it!”
Warner Bros. Television
This famous line delivery is from “The One Where Rachel’s Sister Babysits.” The episode features Christina Applegate reprising her role as Rachel’s outspoken sister, Amy, who offers to babysit Emma, much to Ross’s chagrin.

In this iconic scene, Joey pulls a leftover pizza from the fridge as Amy attempts to body-shame Joey. His response: “I’m curvy and I like it!” Not only is the line itself funny but everyone can take a note from Joey’s book and feel confident in themselves no matter who says otherwise.
8 “If I had to, I’d pee on any one of you!”
“The One with the Jellyfish” opens the season with a hilarious predicament. When Monica is stung by a jellyfish, she awkwardly learns the only thing to heal it is with urine. Joey and Chandler feel obligated to keep this to themselves until the air gets cleaned out.
Before admitting Chandler handled the ordeal, Joey stands up and declares: “That’s right, I stepped up! She’s my friend and needed help. If I had to, I’d pee on any one of you!” Once again, Joey prevails in the friendship department and is willing to take one for the team.
7 “Well, the fridge broke, so I had to eat everything.”
As could be guessed, this famous quote is from “The One with Joey’s Fridge.” Joey pulls apart his fridge and learns, entirely too late, that the refrigerator is broken. He then attempts to have a new one replaced by Rachel, Ross, and Phoebe.
When Joey realizes the situation, he tries mending it by consuming everything in the fridge. When Chandler walks in and prompts him, Joey responds: “Well, the fridge broke, so I had to eat everything.” The beauty of the line? Joey’s simple way of solving problems.
6 “The line is a dot to you.”
An iconic episode, “The One Where Chandler Crosses the Line.” When Chandler and Joey’s then girlfriend, Kathy, realize their mutual feelings, they cheat on Joey.
Unfortunately, Chandler’s confession goes awry and Joey confronts him with some more-or-less wise words: “Over the line? You’re so far past the line you can’t even see the line! The line is a dot to you.” His words, while funny, hit hard for a friendship so deep; it’s a significant moment for Joey who wears his heart on his sleeve.
5 “You’ve been BAMBOOZLED!”
This wacky line is from “The One with the Baby Shower.” Joey sets Chandler and Ross up with a game show script for an audition he’s up for. After a while, the boys get wrapped up in the hype of the game and completely lose it at the conclusion.
How does the game end? With Joey’s enthusiastic declaration of Chandler’s loss: “You’ve been BAMBOOZLED!” From Ross’s excitement and Chandler’s reaction, to Joey’s contagious energy, everything about this moment is fun.
4 “What’s not to like? Custard? Good. Jam? Good. Meat? GOOD.”
From the list of Friends Thanksgiving episodes, “The One Where Ross Got High.” The episode follows Monica and Chandler placating her parents to Phoebe’s random dreams of Jack, and the titular narrative, when Ross got high back in college.
This scene is from Rachel’s disastrous recreation of her “English trifle.” Everyone is repulsed but Joey is quite the opposite: “What’s not to like? Custard? Good. Jam? Good. Meat? GOOD.” Joey is, through and through, a man who enjoys food. Not only does he revel in it but gives the audience joy with his devil-may-care appetite.
3 “This is all a moo point.”
Taken from another Thanksgiving episode, “The One Where Chandler Doesn’t Like Dogs.” Friends wouldn’t be classic without its fair share of dating advice and Joey’s is among the famous. In this episode, amid the festivities and naming states, Rachel debates whether to make a move on her assistant.
Joey not only suggests going for it but makes another well-founded point: “If he doesn’t like you, this is all a moo point. … It’s like a cow’s opinion. It just doesn’t matter. It’s moo.” Whether one agrees with him, Joey can crack a line of wisdom that lasts through the times.
2 “Joey doesn’t share food!”
Joey’s love of food follows into “The One with the Birth Mother.” When Joey asks Phoebe to set him up with another friend of hers, she is hesitant until Rachel vouches for his newfound maturity. The next day, Phoebe asks if he’ll see her friend again and learns that Joey had a problem with his date.
In a humorous flashback, Joey explains he was put off by his date stealing fries off his plate and exclaims: “Joey doesn’t share food!” Not only does everyone love such a relatable pet peeve but the fact that Joey is consistent enough to even refuse to share with a baby. Referring to himself in the third person is certainly the cherry on top.
1 “How you doin’?”
The first time Joey ever said his famous catchphrase was in season four, “The One with Rachel’s Crush.” When Rachel prompts Joey and Phoebe on how to ask a guy out, Joey offers his own advice on how he picks up women. The scene gives us the most iconic scene from Joey and the words we know and love him best for: “I look a woman up and down and say, ‘Hey, how you doin’?’”
Though Phoebe isn’t initially convinced, Joey using the line in practice lives up to its caliber. Joey wins over the audience’s heart with his suave moves and his words live rent-free in pop culture references and Friends fans alike.
