NBC and Sky Living today announced the co-production of Dracula, a provocative new drama series version of the classic Bram Stoker novel starring Golden Globe winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors, Elvis) in the title role. It was announced jointly today by Universal Television Executive Vice President Bela Bajaria, and Sky’s Head of Drama, Anne Mensah. Dracula is from the producers behind the critically acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning hit Downton Abbey, Carnival Films & Television, along with Flame Ventures and Playground, and will begin production later this year....

Face/Off is one of the latest movies to be getting a belated sequel, and according to its director, it will definitely be a sequel and not a reboot. After many years of rumors, it was confirmed last month by Nicolas Cage that a Face/Off sequel was being developed with Adam Wingard set to take over the follow-up to the John Woo action thriller. Now Wingard has explained to Empire that the film will be an “absolute sequel” to the hit original....

Via his official blog, Rob Zombie has announced that filming is a wrap for H2, and not only that, he revealed the official first look of a bloody-masked Michael Myers. The horror sequel will hit theaters August 28, 2009. Orlando Jones and Katia Winter have inked a deal to become the first two cast members to come aboard Fox’s upcoming Sleepy Hollow television series. The series will center Ichabod Crane, who is described as a captain of the Revolutionary War. The former history professor gets thrown into a present day Sleepy Hollow where he is accused of the murder of a officer of the law. He takes on the task of proving his innocence and convincing a suspicious detective to beleive he is a time traveler from the 18th century....

Nominations for the 68th Emmy Awards were announced today by the Television Academy in a ceremony hosted by Television Academy Chairman and CEO Bruce Rosenblum along with Anthony Anderson from the ABC series black-ish and Lauren Graham from Parenthood and the upcoming Netflix revival, Gilmore Girls. Game of Thrones lead the way with the most nominations (23), followed by the limited series’ The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and Fargo, which received 22 nominations and 18 nominations respectively....

The new Super Mario Bros. movie from Universal and Illumination has been pushed back from its Christmas 2022 release to Easter 2023. While the movie seems to be pretty much done by all accounts, Deadline reported the studio has decided to shift the film to make a bid to grab some of the spring holiday box office as it goes up against Sony’s George Forman biopic and an untitled Warner Bros....
