The report, published by THR, notes that the accusers (40-year-old Zoe and 31-year-old Lily) had separately approached the outlet with their stories and reportedly don’t know each other. Per Deadline, after almost twenty years in front of the camera, Stuart Ford’s AGC Studios is launching Chris Pine’s directorial debut with the film, Poolman, described as a mystery-comedy that follows a hapless dreamer who uncovers a dangerous corruption plot that puts his life at risk....

Director Peter Jackson made the journey from Middle Earth to San Diego to promote his highly-anticipated prequel The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The filmmaker spoke to the press about that rumored third movie, which was shot down by a Warner Bros. representative yesterday. It seems the filmmaker is still trying to convince the studio to shoot more footage, based on 125 pages of notes from author J.R.R. Tolkien. The director made headlines last April, when it was revealed that he is shooting The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again at 48 frames per second, as opposed to the industry standard 24 frames per second....

Netflix, the world’s leading Internet entertainment service, will bring viewers a new chapter of Top Boy, the gripping, gritty British drama series following two drug dealers at a public housing estate in East London, created and written by Ronan Bennett. The original series aired two seasons on broadcast in the UK before ending in 2013; both seasons are now globally available on Netflix. The next chapter, consisting of ten all-new episodes, will be written by Ronan Bennett and executive produced by the original creative team, Charles Steel and Alasdair Flind (for Cowboy Films), Ronan Bennett (for Easter Partisan) and Yann Demange, and will premiere as a Netflix original series in 2019....

DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Classic Media, owner of one of the most extensive portfolios featuring many of the best-known and most-enduring franchises in all of family entertainment, for $155 million in cash from Boomerang Media Holdings I LLC, a portfolio company of Chicago-based private equity firm GTCR. Classic Media’s library of intellectual property, which is focused on family characters and brands, features a vast collection of filmed entertainment with over 450 titles and more than 6,100 episodes of animated and live-action programming....

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Etan Cohen has been tapped by DreamWorks Studios to pen the screenplay for a movie that is based on the Museum of SuperNatural History Web site. DreamWorks recently grabbed the feature adaptation rights to the Musunahi brand. The Museum of SuperNatural History Web site is created and curated by Ernest Lupinacci. The site focuses on all things spooky, mythical and conspiracy-minded. Cohen’s screenplay will follow the curator of a covert organization known as the Museum of SuperNatural History....

It is well documented that Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi started out as a potential movie trilogy before it was later developed into the show it became. This weekend, Ewan McGregor revealed that when the original movie idea was still in contention, the plot was focused on Kenobi and Luke Skywalker rather than Princess Leia as the series did. The change seemed to come while the movie was stuck in limbo after the poor box office performance of Solo: A Star Wars Story in cinemas, and the chance to tell a longer story on Disney+ came up....

Netflix’s new fantasy family film, Slumberland, is taking viewers on an adventure through mystical lands and wondrous dreamscapes. The film is a reimagining of the early-20th Century comic strip, Little Nemo in Slumberland. The strip, which debuted in the New York Herald in 1905, was created by cartoonist and animation pioneer Winsor McCay as a spin-off of his earlier comic, Dream of the Rarebit Fiend. The weekly full-page comic strip featured the titular Nemo falling asleep and having dreams that took him on adventures in the fantastical world of Slumberland, with each strip ending when he awoke....
