According to Blackfilm.com, Spike Lee’s former Director of Photography Ernest K. Dickerson will direct a sequel to Bram Stroker’s Dracula. Entitled The Un-Dead, this follow-up comes some fifteen years after Francis Ford Coppola’s original film. Javier Bardem is rumored to be playing Dracula, replacing Gary Oldman in the title role. Other cast members believed to be starring in the film are Monica Bellucci as Lucy and John Hurt as Professor Van Helsing....

Ethan Hawke is set to topline the indie drama Staten Island, with James DeMonaco making his directorial debut, according to Production Weekly. DeMonaco’s script intersects the storylines of three of the borough residents and struggles of getting ahead. DeMonaco adapted the 2005 remake of John Carpenter’s Assault on Precinct 13, that stared Hawke. DeMonaco’s eight-hour drama series The Kill Pit, begins production later this month in Pittsburgh, with Steve Shill (The Sopranos) directing the first four episodes....

Saban Films will soon release the new film Renegades and MovieWeb has an exclusive clip to provide viewers with an early sneak peek. Following a group of former Special Forces operatives reuniting to dole out vengeance when one of their own is murdered, the film will hit theaters on Dec. 2 with a release On Demand and Digital following on Dec. 6, 2022. For now, you can watch the clip below, featuring Lee Majors as a veteran offering help to one of the guys of the group, apparently before things hit the fan....

Fox has ordered an additional six episodes of the new drama Standoff and an additional nine episodes of the new comedy ‘Til Death, it was announced today by Peter Liguori, President, Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company. Standoff stars Ron Livingston as Matt Flannery and Rosemarie DeWitt as Emily Lehman, partners and top-ranked negotiators in the FBI’s Crisis Negotiation Unit (CNU), where they’re trained to talk their way through volatile situations and are experts at knowing what makes other people tick....

Housemother of the prestigious Eastland School for Young Women is no longer with us. Charlotte Rae sadly passed away over the weekend. She was 92 years old. She is perhaps best known for playing Mrs. Garrett, first on early episodes of Diff’rent Strokes and then as the lead on The Facts of Life. Charlotte Rae died Sunday night at her home in Los Angeles. In her early career she she earned two Tony nominations....

The latest movie to get the remake treatment is Cheaper by the Dozen, and Walt Disney Studios has released a trailer for the new film. Scheduled to start streaming on March 18, Cheaper by the Dozen stars Gabrielle Union and Zach Braff as a couple whose family grows exponentially once the two tie the knot. As it stands, we know that the X-Men will be coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe sooner or later, but it remains to be seen when the mutant group will arrive. Marvel boss Kevin Feige has confirmed that there are tentative plans to reimagine the X-Men for the MCU, but there are no official movies anywhere on the release schedule at this time. With that said, the characters could potentially pop up at any time elsewhere in the MCU, and it’s always possible that an X-Men movie or Disney+ series could be announced....

Hilary Duff (Cheaper by the Dozen) will guest star on an upcoming episode of the NBC comedy series Community (Thursday’s at 8:00p.m. ET/PT). In the episode, Duff will play a “mean girl” who’s part of a clique that goes head-to-head with Greendale’s loveable gang. Duff, most well known for her role on the television series Lizzie McGuire, has also appeared in several feature films including Cheaper by the Dozen, The Lizzie McGuire Movie and A Cinderella Story....

CW is teaming with The O.C. creator-executive producer Josh Schwartz for Gossip Girl, a drama based on Alloy Entertainment’s popular book series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The network has given a put pilot commitment to the project, from Alloy and Warner Bros. TV, which Schwartz and The O.C. executive producer Stephanie Savage are in negotiations to write and executive produce. Gossip Girl is set in the world of privileged teenagers attending elite private schools in New York City....
