The CW will adapted the DC Comics super heroine Raven into her own television series. Diego Gutierrez is set to write and produce the first episode, which will revolve around this half-demon who is best known on earth as Rachel Roth. The project will be produced through Warner Bros. TV and DC Entertainment, and it already has an episode pick-up order. The character, created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, is the daughter of a human and a demon born with the ability to read people’s emotions and learn their innermost secrets....

Death Ray Films is teaming with Maya Entertainment to adapt the Dark Horse comic El Zombo Fantasma for the big screen. No production date has been set. El Zombo Fantasma, published by Dark Horse Comics in 2005, created by David Wilkins and Kevin Munroe, will be produced under the Death Ray Films banner recently formed by Chris Patton, Kevin Munroe and Robert Sanchez who are currently in production on War Monkeys....

BBC One announced today that Season 8 of Doctor Who will debut this August on the U.K. television network, although it isn’t known when the season may debut stateside on BBC America. The network has released the first trailer and promo art, teasing the 12th Time Lord, played by Peter Capaldi. Oddly enough, they don’t actually show his face, even though the actor has appeared on the 50th Anniversary Special, “The Day Of the Doctor”, and the Christmas Special, “The Time of the Doctor”....

Tyro documaker Don Sikorski has completed Rap Sheet: Hip-Hop and the Cops, which shows that law enforcement has been compiling secret dossiers on hundreds of hip-hop artists and execs for years, according to Variety. The film features interviews with artists including Russell Simmons, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes, Ja Rule, Snoop Dogg and Damon Dash about the so-called hip-hop cops. There also are performances by Eminem, Fat Joe, Judakiss and Lloyd Banks of G-Unit, among others....

Wonder Girl is here, and she looks quite wonderful. Though, perhaps we weren’t supposed to see this reveal quite yet. A photo of Conor Leslie as Donna Troy in Titans was posted on Instagram, then quickly deleted. Much like everything on the Internet, nothing is ever really gone. Johnson has been in his fair share of stunt car crashes, but getting a call to say that his mother’s red Cadillac had been hit in an accident seems to have shaken him more than any of his blockbuster movies....

E! News anchor and author Ken Baker has become the latest Hollywood player to be accused of sexual harassment. The anchor had been appearing on the air in recent weeks, expressing his disgust over the dozens of women who have come forward with allegations of sexual abuse, assault and harassment against Harvey Weinstein, but now two former E! News employees have come forward and revealed that Ken Baker has sexually harassed them....

Wolfgang Van Halen, son of music legend Eddie Van Halen, is not happy with the Reelz Channel. Recently, the network debuted the newest episode of the documentary series Autopsy: The Last Hours of…, each episode of which delves into the final hours of a different deceased celebrity. Eddie Van Halen was the subject of the program this week, and it did not go down well with those who knew him, as Wolfgang made clear with a blunt post on Twitter responding to the show....

New Video’s Flatiron Film Company and Variance Films announced today that they have partnered for the theatrical release of José Padilha’s record-breaking Brazilian crime thriller, Elite Squad: The Enemy Within (a.k.a. Tropa de Elite 2 - O Inimigo Agora É Outro). The film will open in New York City on November 11th, 2011 at the AMC Empire 25 in Times Square, and at Laemmle’s Sunset 5 in Los Angeles on November 18th, 2011....

Per Billboard, the nomination round of voting runs from June 16 to 27, with the official nominations being announced July 12. Having last played Obi-Wan Kenobi in 2003, many would believe that Ewan McGregor would have needed a little time to reacquaint himself with his role as the Jedi Master. However, McGregor recently explained that in Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, he found it much easier to play the role than in the prequel movies. Having developed Kenobi as a much younger iteration of the character in The Phantom Menace, now the character is older and heading toward Alec McGuiness’ appearance in the original Star Wars trilogy, McGregor feels closer to that version of Kenobi....

Frasier star Kelsey Grammer has not ruled out bringing members of the Cheers cast into the revival. Speaking with MovieWeb’s own Jeffrey Heller, Grammer was asked whether there is any chance of seeing the likes of Ted Danson’s Sam Malone, George Wendt’s Norm Peterson, Rhea Perlman’s Carla Tortelli, Woody Harrelson’s Woody Boyd, or any of the Cheers gang, with the actor assuring fans that the door is open to such crowd-pleasing cameos....

Back in January, Frank Darabont, who created AMC’s hit series The Walking Dead before he was unceremoniously fired in the middle of the second season, revealed in a deposition why he was actually fired from the hit series. The deposition was part of a major lawsuit the writer-director brought against AMC to reclaim the millions of dollars in profits he was owed after his firing, and now we know exactly how much he’s seeking....

Hollywood superstar Chris Evans will return to Netflix for his next leading role. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the Captain America star has just signed on to appear alongside Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place) in Pain Hustlers, a new action movie that’s currently in development at Netflix. David Yates (Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series) is also attached to direct the feature with the filmmaker describing the movie as something like The Wolf of Wall Street meets The Big Short....

Chris Hemsworth is very well-known for his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Throughout his time playing the character, he found his greatest success playing the God of Thunder as a human, fallible, and often comedic character.
