Directed by Todd Field and starring Cate Blanchett in the titular role, TÁR is a look into the life of conductor Lydia Tár. When we meet her, she is at the top of her game, being interviewed by The New Yorker, conducting the Berlin orchestra, and releasing an autobiography. We see her immaculate suits being tailored, her obsessive and obedient assistant, and her impeccable Berlin home. Lydia’s carefully constructed and maintained life is evident from the opening scenes....

You can see how one of the 80s finest dramatic series’ all started in a new four-disc set this April. Falcon Crest: The Complete First Season will be released on DVD on April 20. This four-disc set will contain all 18 episodes of this first season and the set will be priced at $39.98 SRP. It doesn’t seem there will be any special features included on this set, but if that changes, we’ll be sure to update this story....

If you haven’t heard yet, the Final Destination franchise is returning with a sixth installment. In the five previous Final Destination films, the franchise featured an opening premonition where one of the main characters had a vision that a group of their friends would die in the upcoming moments. Thanks to these premonitions, a group of the intended dead would survive — that is, until death came back to claim them again....

Fox is heading into its fall season with a new comic-book series and a new comedy as well. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox has handed out series orders to the pilots Human Target and Sons of Tuscon. Human Target is based off a DC Comics title and stars Mark Valley as a shadowy freelance operative who offers a unique service to his clients: he becomes a Human Target and assumes his clients identities to put them out of harms way....

Charlie Sheen’s upcoming FX comedy series, Anger Management, has starting casting for it’s lead female role with Hellboy’s Selma Blair and Dexter actress Julie Benz testing on set with the comedian tomorrow. The shows follows Charlie, a former baseball player with anger issues who winds up as an unconventional anger management therapist. There are 3 female lead roles that will need to be filled, Charlie’s own therapist and love interest, his ex-wife and his 13-year-old daughter....

NBC’s action-comedy series Chuck returns to the NBC lineup on Sunday, January 10 with all-new missions and two action-packed, back-to-back original episodes in its season premiere (9-11 p.m. ET) before the series – starring Zachary Levi in the title role – moves to its regular day and time (Mondays 8-9 p.m. ET) beginning January 11. In addition, Chuck returns with guest stars galore in its third season. Despite what you might hear from internet-haters and stuck-up film critics in the next few days, in my opinion “Clash Of The Titans” is a great and fun popcorn movie. I honestly enjoyed this movie and thought that it was a decent piece of Hollywood entertainment. In an attempt at full disclosure I will say that I only saw the original once when I was a real young kid and other than a fleeting image of the old Pegasus, I don’t really remember a thing....

If you aren’t already aware, musician, visionary, and performer David Bowie could do pretty much do anything. While Bowie drew acclaim as a musician for much of his career, the singer’s acting roles are equally notable. Bowie starred in sci-fi, horror, fantasy, war dramas, art films, and everything in between, and managed to incorporate his larger than life persona into each of his respective performances. Bowie’s film roles also demonstrated his notable range and showcased layers to an already impressive set of skills....

David Duchovny has indicated that an The X-Files sequel is one step closer to becoming a reality, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film has been subject of speculation for the past few years. “I’m supposed to see a script next week,” Duchovny said, adding that creator Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz wrote the screenplay and that Carter is set to direct. Duchovny also reiterated past remarks that he and The X Files co-star Gillian Anderson “are on board” the follow-up to the 1998 film and the series that ran on Fox from 1993-2002....

Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment Group and Platinum Studios Inc. have announced that principal photography has wrapped in New Orleans, Louisiana, on their gothic thriller, Dead of Night. The film, which is also a presentation of the Omnilab Media Group, is based on the world’s best-selling horror comic series, “Dylan Dog,” created by Tiziano Sclavi and published by Italy’s Sergio Bonelli Editore. The comic book series has sold over 56 million units in 17 languages since its debut in 1986....

Walt Disney Studios has just announced its film line-up for its exciting D23 Expo, which will be taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center from September 10th to the 13th. Disney will use this upcoming showcase to premier both Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in Disney Digital 3D.
