The Fighter star Mark Wahlberg is back in the ring in the first trailer for Sony’s upcoming biopic Father Stu. Released by Sony Pictures Entertainment, the footage has Wahlberg on fighting form once again, as he undergoes a major transformation in the telling of the boxer-turned-priest Father Stuart Long — a true story that is so full of drama and redemption that it is practically tailor-made for a big-screen adaptation....

An all new featurette about the women of The Spirit aired on the debut broadcast of MTV’s new show “Spoilers” on November 14th. And in case you missed it, thanks to MTV’s Splashpage you can still catch the featurette now. Hosted by Frank Miller, comic book icon and director of the film, the featurette focuses on the women who make The Spirit’s life so very interesting, played by a line-up of actresses that include some of the hottest women in Hollywood, including Eva Mendes, Scarlett Johansson and Jamie King....

Hasbro has posted images of their upcoming line of Transformers action figures. Inspired in design, by the Protoform characters in the upcoming live-action movie, these preview figures feature Starscream and Optimus Prime in their Cybertronian forms. Variety reports that former cast members, including Rob Lowe, and frequent guest stars are flocking back to NBC’s The West Wing as the politico drama nears its finish. Lowe is set to star in two of the last episodes, while others, including Mary-Louise Parker, Gary Cole, Tim Matheson and Annabeth Gish, will appear in one or more of the final five segs. Lowe, who last played Sam Seaborn in the show’s fourth season, has since then starred in the skeins Dr....

Ronald D. Moore has sold his two hour pilot Virtuality to Fox. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show will be produced by Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun. It was Braun that came up with the idea and gave it to Moore to write. The premise of the series will revolve around ten astronauts that set out on a ten-year journey of a nearby solar system. To help pass the time on the ship, NASA has created an advanced virtual reality pod that will allow the astronauts to assume different identities and go on many different adventures....

The Friday the 13th movie franchise is certainly steeped in lore, with 11 original movies, the 2009 remake and yet another reboot that is currently in development. Hasbro announced today that G.I. Joe: Resolute, an adult fan oriented animated mini-series, will be broadcast via Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim on television as well as online. Based on the classic G.I. JOE brand, Hasbro created 60 minutes of total content for this new story which will be presented as 11 episodes. Beginning on April 17, fans will be able to see the first five minutes of the brand new, stand-alone animated mini-series on AdultSwim....

He may be a Real American Hero, but G.I. Joe is going to Prague. According to an article in the Prague Daily Monitor, the Stephen Sommers directed film is going to be filming in Prague’s Barrandov studios starting in May, 2008. G.I. HBO’s The Last of Us has finally arrived after a lengthy production, and series star Gabriel Luna is reflected on when he first joined the project. In the series, based on the hit video game of the same name, Luna plays Tommy, the brother of Pedro Pascal’s Joel Miller. Both characters were included in the original video game, as was Bella Ramsey’s Ellie, one of the series leads alongside Pascal....

According to Variety, Cinema Libre Studio has purchased North American rights to Oliver Stone’s documentary South of the Border. The film centers on current Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez’s rise to power. The film premiered at the Venice Film Fest in September. Except for Naked Gun, Austin Powers, and (shudder) The Hangover, the Clerks series is smutty auteur Kevin Smith’s jewel in a papier-mâché crown, and the one item in his filmography that he will forever be associated to. Clerks III is pretty darn good. As a film on its own, it sees out a lifespan of work from a writer who was once dubbed the next Scorsese for the original chapter, and outside this, part three works as an example of just how much Smith has matured as a filmmaker....

After a few days of speculation, Dakota Johnson could have slyly confirmed her rumored casting as Madame Web in the new Spider-Man spinoff. The new addition to the Spider-Man universe was originally announced back in 2019, but since then it has been pretty much radio silence on any further information until last month.
