After a nationwide digital casting call, 11-year-old Andy Walken, from Seattle, WA, has been cast in the role of “Ralphie Parker,” the lead character in A Christmas Story: Live, airing Sunday, Dec. 17 (7:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on Fox. More than 350 applicants were considered for the role of “Ralphie,” a boy whose only dream is to get a Red Ryder Range Model Carbine Action BB Gun for Christmas. Fox Searchlight is on board The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, a project that reunites the Milk team of director Gus Van Sant and writer Dustin Lance Black, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Richard Gladstein and his Film Colony banner are attached to produce. Cher is poised to star opposite Christina Aguilera in Burlesque, a contemporary musical for Screen Gems that Steven Antin will direct from a script he wrote. According to Variety, Aguilera will play an ambitious small-town Iowa girl with a big voice who comes of age in a neo-burlesque club on Sunset Boulevard that’s run by Tess (Cher), a former dancer who struggles to keep the club open and gives the young girl a chance to shine....

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Starz is firming up the cast and story line for its Spartacus: Gods of the Arena prequel series. This is the spin-off show to Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Three Australian actors have joined the cast. This includes Dustin Clare who will play Gannicus. He is the champion gladiator in the House of Batiatus before Spartacus. Starz also has cast Jaime Murray (Dexter) in the role of a Capua social climber....
