In 1982, a sequel to the 1978 box office sensation Grease was released. Simply titled Grease 2, the film had almost an entirely new cast of characters. MTV today announced it will give viewers the chance to conquer their fears head on with a refresh of the break-through series MTV’s Fear Factor. Ludacris will host the new installment, custom-created for a generation that is increasingly empowered, while also more anxious than ever. Ludacris will also serve as executive producer on the project as part of an overarching deal with MTV. Filled with new stunts inspired by urban legends, popular scary movies and viral videos from today’s cultural zeitgeist, Fear Factor contestants will confront their fears, be pushed beyond their comfort zones and take action against some of their biggest stressors....

Nashville star Michiel Huisman has signed on for a recurring role in Season 4 of HBO’s Game of Thrones. No details were given regarding his character, and it isn’t known how many episodes he is slated to appear in this season. The season is said to be based on the second half of George R.R. Martin’s novel A Storm of Swords, the third book in his A Song of Fire and Ice series....

Cher is thanking Betty White for being a friend. On Jan. 31, NBC will air the tribute special Celebrating Betty White: America’s Golden Girl. Chris Rock is still holding off on really opening up about the situation that occurred at the Academy Awards last month, but he hasn’t stayed completely silent. At the comedian’s first stand-up show after the Oscars, where King Richard star Will Smith smacked Rock for a joke told about Jada Pinkett Smith, Rock only noted that he was “still processing” what happened. At another show, as reported by Palm Springs Desert Sun, Rock had a little more to say about the situation....

Cinema Paradiso won hearts with the heartfelt story of the boy who navigates his love for cinema and juggles his personal life in post-World War II Italy. Now, more than three decades later, Cinema Paradiso is being adapted as a television miniseries, as an expansion of the original film. And interestingly, the film’s director, Giuseppe Tornatore, is returning to develop the six-episode venture. As per an exclusive conversation between Italy-based producer Marco Belardi and Variety, the new series will be titled, Paradiso....

In a story from Variety, Conan O’Brien isn’t very happy with NBC’s decision to put him on after midnight. At present, nobody knows if O’Brien will accept the NBC proposal. He took on hosting duties for Tonight Show in June. “It’s radically unfair what happened to him,” stated one source. “He turned down a massive offer six years ago with the promise of eventually getting the Tonight Show. And then he never really got the Tonight Show....

Mindhunter is probably finished at Netflix, according to David Fincher. Season 3 of the popular series has been on hold indefinitely since January of this year, when it was revealed that Fincher was focusing on Mank and that the streaming service had released the cast and crew from their contracts. At the time, Netflix said, “He [Fincher] may revisit Mindhunter again in the future, but in the meantime felt it wasn’t fair to the actors to hold them from seeking other work while he was exploring new work of his own....
