Beautiful Beings takes an uncomfortable but ultimately enlightening journey through bullying, abuse, and cycles of violence which can sadly dictate the direction of how one comes of age. Iceland’s submission for the Best International Feature Film Oscar has garnered acclaim for its ability to mix gritty, grounded storytelling with magical realism, and is now having a theatrical release. Filmmaker Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson and the great cinematographer Sturla Brandth Grøvlen (Another Round, Victoria, Rams) create a tone poem to youth in Beautiful Beings, with fittingly gorgeous imagery that’s reminiscent of Terrence Malick movies....

Aedin Mincks has been acting since he was six years old, first getting his start in commercials and small cameos for television shows. Inspired by The Lord of the Rings, his brother and he found a passion for acting while kids. Aedin appeared on A.N.T. Farm, Seth MacFarlane’s Ted, and, most recently, Netflix’s Cobra Kai. On Cobra Kai he plays Mitch, a character that first appears on the show in Season 2....

That’s a wrap on Extraction 2. On Instagram, director Sam Hargrave has revealed that filming has officially been wrapped on the Chris Hemsworth-led sequel that has been in development for a future release on Netflix. Hargrave posted a video of himself from the set while announcing that shooting is in the can, so it’s off to the post-production process at this point. Ezra Miller may face removal from the DC Extended Universe projects after releasing the upcoming film The Flash. A few months ago, Ezra Miller faced arrest in Hawaii after allegedly assaulting a couple. Before heat turned down on that matter, Miller faced a second arrest there, which clouded his involvement in the upcoming The Flash film, where he plays the lead. However, Warner Bros. cleared that there is no immediate decision to remove the actor from the movie, which is already in the final stages of post-production....

You can bring home one of this year’s Oscar nominees for Best Picture in both formats this April. Frost/Nixon will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on April 21. We have no cover art as of yet, but the DVD will be priced at $29.98 SRP while the Blu-ray will street for $39.98 SRP. HBO’s Game of Thrones begins production this week on its final season, with series star Liam Cunningham revealing in a new interview that he started work just yesterday, doing a table read at the show’s production hub in Belfast, Ireland. There have been rumors that the final season will include all feature-length episodes, but we’re still a long ways away from finding out how long each of these six final episodes will be....

Taking place in an unusual environment full of mysterious creatures and vegetation, the upcoming Disney animated film Strange World is an adventure set for release on November 23. The movie is directed by Don Hall and co-written by Qui Nguyen (co-writer of Raya and the Last Dragon). A Stanley Kubrick classic is getting the anniversary treatment. Dr. Strangelove will be released on Blu-ray in a new 45th Anniversary Special Edition on June 16. TNT has greenlit Public Morals, the highly buzzed-about police drama from writer, director, executive producer and star Edward Burns (Saving Private Ryan, The Brothers Mcmullen, TNT’s Mob City). Set in New York in the 1960s, Public Morals also stars Michael Rapaport (Justified, Prison Break) and Elizabeth Masucci (The Americans, Inside Amy Schumer). The series marks TNT’s latest collaboration with Amblin Television, and executive producers Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank, the team behind the network’s hit series Falling Skies....

Emile Hirsch, who plays the title role in Speed Racer, says that the new film from the Wachowski Brothers is like “Nothing you’ve ever seen before.” In an interview with MTV, the young actor says that “This film has all these visuals and elements to it. That’s what the Wachowski brothers, when they were making that first The Matrix, [were doing]. No one had seen anything like it.” Hirsch’s feelings were repeated by other members of the cast, including Matthew Fox (Lost) who plays the mysterious Racer X in Speed Racer....
