George Lazenby, who played 007 in the 1969 film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, was appearing as part of an Australian tour called The Music of James Bond until his “unacceptable” jokes got him kicked out. No recording of the incident which occurred on September 9, 2022, in Perth, Australia, has been released, but attendees reported what went on in the theatre. One audience member said: The 83-year-old Lazenby insists in a statement shared on social media that it was never his intention to anger people....

D-BOX Technologies Inc., a leading provider of motion technology for immersive home entertainment, today announced that Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment LLC (“Fox”) will release its first series of D-BOX motion-enhanced Blu-ray movies. The first three titles integrating D-BOX technology are Alien vs. Predator and Courage Under Fire (release date: January 23, 2007), and Broken Arrow (release date: February 13, 2007). Marking its official entry into developing long-form event series, Fox Broadcasting Company (Fox) announced today that it has inked development deals for two large-scale drama projects: Wayward Pines, from M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable) and FX Productions; and Blood Brothers, from Bruce C. McKenna (Band of Brothers, The Pacific), Gary A. Randall (The Glades, Saving Grace), Timothy Scott Bogart, Boardwalk Entertainment Group and Fox Television Studios. Fox will order its first event series pilot(s) later this year with plans to debut its first long-form event series in 2014....

You can bring one of the year’s biggest animated hits home on DVD and Blu-ray, just in time for the holidays. G-Force will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on December 15. The film will be released in a barebones single-disc release ($29.99 SRP), a two-disc special edition with Digital Copy ($39.99 SRP) and a Blu-ray combo pack that will include the BD, standard-definition DVD and a Digital Copy ($44.99 SRP)....

According to Variety, Chiwetel Ejiofor has been set to star in the Alfonso Cuaron-directed Children of Men, as well as the Michael Almereyda-helmed indie Tonight at Noon. Ejiofor, who just starred with Denzel Washington, Clive Owen and Jodie Foster in the Spike Lee-directed Inside Man, first joins Owen and Julianne Moore in the futuristic Children of Men. He plays the leader of a radical political faction bent on controlling the future of the human race....

Chucky will keep wielding his knife for at least another season. A few months after the end of season 2 for the acclaimed horror series, USA Network and SyFy have decided to grant Don Mancini’s golden killing doll another set of episodes that will continue to tell the story of the iconic horror character and Jake Wheeler. The series follows the murderous escapades of the notorious killer doll. Chucky crosses paths with archenemies, old allies, and new prey as he seeks to inspire fear and mayhem wherever he goes....

Not since Who Framed Roger Rabbit has animation and live-action been married so well as with Chip ’n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers. The film even shares the same universe as Who Framed Roger Rabbit, taking place in modern times while Roger’s story was in the 1940s. There are a number of parallels between the two films, which is no coincidence. The filmmakers have cited Roger Rabbit as its main inspiration. While talk of a sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit has been rumored for a long time, the new Chip ’n’ Dale movie may have just paved the way for it....

The Guardian sat down with Dan Aykroyd, who dished more on Ghostbusters 3, currently being developed at Columbia Pictures. Here’s what he had to say: “A period piece, it takes place two years after the events of the second movie and sees Manhattan once again under threat. It’s closer in scale to Aykroyd’s original vision but in canon terms, it’s the next chapter of the story. And now for the supernatural bit: after coming together for the game, all the players have stated their intentions to go back, and a script is being written by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, writers on the US Office....

Disney has been the epicenter of filmmaking innovation from its first animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to its partnership with Pixar, and then its accumulation of the Marvel and Star Wars franchises. Amidst the criticism, Disney has pushed back on protests from anti-LGBTQ+ groups. The company and directors have refused to cut LGBTQ+ scenes from films like the live-action Beauty and the Beast and the latest Pixar installment Lightyear....

Say what you will about Mel Gibson but it is hard to argue that he is in fact one of the finest actors and filmmakers of his generation. From films like the “Mad Max” and “Lethal Weapon” series to movies like “Maverick,” “Tequila Sunrise,” “Hamlet,” “Ransom,” “Payback” and “What Women Want,” Gibson has done it all including winning an Oscar for directing “Braveheart.” But it was his polarizing, yet incredibly successful films “The Passion Of The Christ” and “Apocalypto,” both of which he directed, along with his infamous “incident in Malibu” that has had the actor/director on the “DL” in Hollywood over the past few years....

The Finnish Weird Wave is an unofficial trend in horror cinema from the country, similar to the American talk of ’elevated horror’ movies or the New French Extremity movement, and is an interesting phenomenon to follow for genre fans of cinephiles. The past five or six years have seen a variety of these critically acclaimed and often disturbing films, from Dogs Don’t Wear Pants to the recent Hatching. Most of these are directed by people who grew up in the ’80s in Finland during a time when films were heavily censored, when home media wasn’t readily available and kids spoke in hushed tones about banned horror movies....

Ruth Wilson is Kate in True Things, a romantic drama following a woman who becomes infatuated with a stranger who enters her quiet life. Tom Burke plays Blond in the film, who asks Kate to lunch, beginning her emotionally dangerous journey that will slowly consume her.
