It’s the end of yet another night at Hastings Supermarket, an idyllic family grocery store in Buck Lake, Arizona. But the normal monotony of rounding up shopping carts and settling out the cash drawers is broken at 11:07pm, just before closing, when a group of masked and armed-to-the-teeth militants invades the store, immediately killing several of the employees and shoppers and holding the rest hostage. Though the hostage-takers at first appear to be robbers or terrorists, they soon reveal themselves to be a cadre of rogue scientists that has discovered and tracked an alien infestation to THIS STORE on THIS NIGHT, and they are determined to find out which of the survivors are extraterrestrials and end the invasion at any cost....

Fox managed to accomplish something surprising last year when it brought The Exorcist to TV. Not only did it not tick off fans, but the show managed to actually connect to the mythology of the original movie. Which is sacred ground for horror fans. As we head into The Exorcist season 2, creator Jeremy Slater has revealed that the show is looking to take something from less sacred ground, but something that fans love nonetheless....

Rarely do sequels get a shot of adrenaline and are revitalized to original form. Director Justin Lin, who directed the third installment of The Fast and Furious Franchise, comes back with a sledgehammer for the fifth, aptly titled Fast Five. The film is pedantic plot-wise, but delivers an old school cinematic beatdown with its awesome action scenes. And I’m not talking silly CGI effects. Fear the Walking Dead drops a few more clues about the mysterious Pioneers. “Today And Tomorrow” has Morgan (Lennie James) and Al (Maggie Grace) rescuing a survivor on the run. He leads them to their first encounter with Ginny (Colby Minifie). Grace (Karen David) bonds with Daniel Salazar (Ruben Blades) on a supply run. Morgan comes to an important conclusion. Al wonders if the new villains have anything to do with Isabelle....

I Can Do Bad All by Myself director Tyler Perry’s latest drama, For Colored Girls, which opens in theaters on November 5th, is based on Ntozake Shange’s choreopoem “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf.” The film stars an amazing cast of iconic actresses including Janet Jackson (Nutty Professor II: The Klumps), Thandie Newton (Mission: Impossible 2), Kerry Washington (Mother and Child), Anika Noni Rose (The Princess and the Frog), Kimberly Elise (Set It Off), Loretta Devine (Death at a Funeral), Phylicia Rashad (The Cosby Show) and Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg (Ghost)....

Winston Francis Groom, Jr. was already a noted journalist and Pulitzer-nominated author when his novel Forrest Gump was published in 1986. The book received mixed reviews and sold tens of thousands of copies, but was largely forgotten after several years. Meanwhile, Tom Hanks was a well-known comic actor in a bit of a career slump, with two flops in 1990, Joe Versus the Volcano and The Bonfire of the Vanities. Screenwriter Eric Roth had been in the business since the 1970s, and though he had worked regularly, hadn’t found much success....

FOX is paying “homarge” to The Simpsons with a week-long on-air scavenger hunt this November in celebration of the series’ “Best. 20 Years. Ever.” Beginning Monday, Nov. 9 and continuing through Sunday, Nov. 15, fans can watch FOX to find The Simpsons tributes and clues featured in primetime programming and in on-air promos. Participating series in the week-long tribute to The Simpsons include House, Lie to Me, So You Think You Can Dance, Bones, Fringe, Brothers, ‘Til Death and Dollhouse....

Fox has greenlighted the comedy/reality pilot, Skyler’s Revolution starring comedian Skyler Stone. From Warner Horizon TV and McG’s Wonderland Sound and Vision, The Hollywood Reporter describes the show as a comedy/prank hybrid in the vein of MTV’s Punk’d. Lucy Liu has been tapped to star in ABC’s one-hour pilot, Cashmere Mafia, which revolves around four successful female executives, one of them played by Liu. James Brolin has signed on to star in ABC’s untitled Rina Mimoun drama pilot; it centers on a successful Atlanta lawyer (Alyssa Milano) who returns to her messy family in Savannah, Ga....

The network has also okayed four new hour-long dramas. They include The Bionic Woman, Chuck, Journeyman, and Life. There had been much speculating as to whether Friday Night Lights was coming back. The order came in at the last minute. The show has gathered a lot of critical praise, but it had been lagging in the rating....

It’s official. HBO has just killed the Game of Thrones prequel. Game of Thrones fans just can’t seem to catch a break. It’s come to light that HBO has scrapped plans for a prequel series based on the works of author George R.R. Martin. This prequel, which was going to take place thousands of years before the events of the hit fantasy series, was set to include a massive cast led by Naomi Watts....
