If you aren’t familiar with the franchise, the film’s main plot is to try and stay alive after having already cheated death. Its first film, titled Final Destination, was released in 2000 and quickly triggered a successful horror franchise. Back in September, Netflix announced that they are making new episodes of the hit UK TV series Black Mirror, after striking a deal with series creator Charlie Brooker. The anthology series debuted in 2011 with three hour-long episodes, returning for its second season in 2013 with three more episodes, all centering on humanity’s need for technology. During the streaming service’s TCA summer tour presentation last month, Netflix revealed the show will debut October 21 with six new episodes, and today, we have the first four photos from two of those episodes....

Stephen Sommers will not be returning to direct the Untitled G.I. Joe Sequel (aka G.I. Joe 2). There have been no reasons given for the director’s exit. It has been confirmed that two agents who represent other filmmakers have in fact been approached about their clients taking over the reigns of this franchise. Paramount has declined to comment on the possibility of a new helmer behind G.I. Joe 2, but both agents were told that Sommers would not be stepping behind the camera for this installment....

Paramount Movies has released the official trailer for the new action-thriller The Contractor. Starring Chris Pine (Star Trek), the film follows an elite soldier on the run from hired killers after his first mission goes awry. You can check out the trailer for the film below. An assortment of character posters for the upcoming comical mystery, Amsterdam, put the spotlight on the stellar cast that will inhabit director David O. Russell’s period piece. After a decade and a half and more than 300 episodes, Criminal Minds is getting ready to call it quits. CBS has announced that the series has been renewed for season 15, which will be its last. The CW’s new president Mark Pedowitz is looking for the next superhero drama, following the end of Smallville this past May. The network is in talks with Eric Kripke to write and produce the drama based on the original comics written by Arnold Drake and Carmine Infantino. The series will be about the spirit of a murdered man, Boston Brand, who lives on as he inhabits other people’s bodies and helps them solve crises in their own lives....

Dennie Gordon is adapting the British novel A Special Relationship to the big screen. Gordon, who’s best known for comedies like What A Girl Wants and Joe Dirt, is heading back to the world of thrillers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story follows an American journalist who suddenly finds herself pregnant and married to an English foreign correspondent while on assignment in the Middle East. Has a second season of Hawkeye now been confirmed by Disney? The speculation over such a surprise comes courtesy of a Disney Studios Awards listing, which puts Hawkeye as a comedy series on their For Your Consideration site ahead of Emmy nominations. It was expected that Hawkeye would be submitted for Emmy consideration under the Limited Series banner, but it seems that Disney has changed tack, instead opting to list Hawkeye in categories that are usually chosen for shows expected to continue....
